ABOUT VALLEY RECOVERY CENTER OF CALIFORNIA

Valley Recovery Center of California, situated in Sacramento, offers a range of services for adults struggling with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. This facility is accredited by the Joint Commission and employs a client-centered, holistic approach throughout its residential, day, and intensive outpatient (IOP) programs. Detox is available on-site for those requiring medical attention prior to commencing treatment.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Prospective clients undergo admissions assessments to determine the appropriate level of treatment. Upon admission to the residential program, individuals receive a bio-psycho-social evaluation to develop an individualized treatment plan. The treatment modalities often include individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, and 12-Step meetings. Additionally, exercise, yoga, and therapeutic outings are integral components of the program.

Upon completion of the residential program, clients may continue their support by attending day treatment. The day program, which offers a variety of treatment groups, operates from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. For individuals seeking greater flexibility, IOP care is available. IOP consists of three small group sessions of three hours each per week and is primarily offered in the evening. Valley Recovery Center’s Sober Living Environment is an additional source of support located nearby.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

At the time of writing, five former clients provided mixed feedback. Two reviewers gave high ratings to the major categories of the Best-rehabs.com survey. One anonymous reviewer awarded perfect five stars for overall treatment effectiveness, accommodations, and meals, praising the facility’s non-judgmental and respectful atmosphere. Another reviewer expressed appreciation for the acceptance and emotional support provided in rehab. However, the other three alumni felt neglected at times, with one noting a lack of access to therapists due to an influx of clients during their last week of treatment.

WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY

Four loved ones provided reviews at the time of writing, and their feedback was less favorable. One anonymous loved one considered the one-on-one counseling a facility strength but believed that more group therapy would have been beneficial. The other three reviewers were critical. One individual mentioned that the facility allowed drugs due to insufficient searches, while another expressed frustration with the communication practices. Another reviewer was dissatisfied with how the facility addressed payment for a young man who had lost his job due to alcohol abuse.

FINANCING

The rehab’s website does not currently provide information on fees, but the facility accepts private insurance plans, including Aetna, Cigna, and Value Options.

Valley Recovery Center of California Reviews

I set up a check in date, did all my preliminaries over the phone, had everything set to go. I was ready to make a change in my life. I confirmed that my insurance covered in house, live in treatment for at least 30 days. Yes. Yes. Yes. I was told I had a bed and my insurance was confirmed. I was staying at my connect's house and left on bad terms because I was told numerous times I had a bed and it was all good to go. I got to the check in office and after waiting for 2 hours they told me i was only qualified for outpatient treatment. I confirmed with them numerous times because I knew once I left the place I was staying I would not be able to come back. Now I was homeless and had no way to get to outpatient treatment. This place is a scam. Do not waste your time with this unethical shit place.
Don't go to the IOP! Staff thinks they know how to help people, but they're not qualified. Sober living is terrible! Bedbugs, thrives, dirty, zero supervision, and if you don't have a car you'll have to walk 4 miles to an AA meeting round trip. 10 if you need NA. 1% success rate. Much better places if you really want lasting recovery. Don't let this money grabbing business fool you.
I’ve never felt so supported or listened to with my anxiety and depression problems. Adjusting was a little rough at first, and insurance tried to deny me, but everybody worked on showing how much I needed to be here.
DO NOTTTT GO TO THAT PALCE OR SEND YOUR LOVED ONES OVER THERE. ITS A HORRIBLE PLACR TO BE IN.
Extremely positive experience at Valley, I was treated with respect and compassion from every member of the Valley staff, I was a little nervous about my stay and not sure what to expect? but after my meeting with my counselor, I felt at ease and completely comfortable, great group meetings to help you understand your addiction, several outside speakers came in that have overcome they’re addictions, very motivating and gave me hope that I could to. I would with no hesitation recommend Valley Recovery to anyone and I have, extremely clean facility and the food was off the charts.
