Florida Recovery Center of Tampa, a division of the University of Florida (UF Health), offers outpatient treatment services for adults and adolescents with chemical dependency. Inpatient treatment, partial hospitalization, and medically supervised detoxification are available at the organization’s Gainesville facility.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Florida Recovery Center of Tampa’s intensive outpatient (IOP) program combines evidence-based treatment methods, including individual therapy, group counseling, and family counseling, with the 12-step model of recovery. Typically used as a step-down treatment following inpatient care, the outpatient program helps clients prepare for long-term sobriety by addressing emotional, physical, spiritual, and social aspects of a sober lifestyle.
Clients participate in several hours of individual and group therapy sessions each week. Sessions are held in the evenings, allowing clients to fulfill work and school obligations. The duration of treatment varies based on individual needs, and participants may continue therapy for several months or years.
The center also offers specialized treatment tracks for women, adolescents, physicians, and other professionals. For professional clients, the treatment team collaborates with licensing boards, employers, professional resource networks, and the criminal justice system to ensure compliance with requirements and support clients as they reintegrate into the workforce.
