  • Do not attend this facility. They will tell you anything to get you through the door! If you need to make phone calls to set up discharge they will freeze your funds and block all phone calls. I left and requested to pack up my own belongings and even had to call the police on this facility. Since it was private property the police could do nothing and they didn't pack multiple items, return my privately purchased $1000 vivitrol shot (which they refused to administer and probably gave to another patient), or give me my privately purchased meds that i was on. I called later about the missing items ands they said they found nothing. My mom hounded them and my silk pillow cases were found in another patients room!!! I still have yet to receive the other items. When someone leaves they are supposed to hold it for 30 days prior to placing it in the "lost and found" ... Yet they stock it up immediately with your/my property as a free for all for current patients. The food sucks and you feel bloated constantly. The main facility is decent but once you strep down to the apartments you are placed in a rough neighbourhood in places built in the 80's. Trust me on this one. Find another place. Ghetto!!!!

  • First off if you don't feel like reading this just at least know that this is a great review of Lakeview. Just a brief history of myself, I come from a good family but had experienced trauma in my youth. I never felt "normal". Once I started trying drugs at 13, I was hooked. It made me feel like I could function. I continued to use and got into harder and harder drugs. I was always able to keep a good job and pay my bills until about the 6th year of my heroin use. I spiraled out of control and came to a point where I was just waiting for death. It was on one of these days that I thought would be my last that I had this urge to google treatment centers, I still to this day couldn't tell you why this happened, I think it was a true miracle. Lakeview was the first place that I saw listed. I called them and told them the severity of the situation. After a brief amount of questions, they said they would call back in 5 minutes, they did and they had a plane ticket for the next day. Gosh, I can't help but tear up as I write this. I was very impressed with the medically assisted detox. I think it took me 6 or 7 days, then another few days to come out of the thick fog. During that time there was a great schedule to get me into a healthy routine. The counseling was really beneficial. I had never done it before and since it worked so well for me I continued to do it long after leaving, and still do on occasion. The rooms were great and I was very comfortable. The food was good, a lot of comfort food, which is really what I needed. I chose to take the holistic track and loved it. It was perfect for me because I do well with meditation and mindfulness. Going to outside meetings really started my foundation into the 12 steps. I really liked the way I was phased up and regular meetings with the psychiatrist and doctors. I left Lakeveiw after 54 days, on January 13th, 2015. My life has been all about recovery ever since. I had a relapse after 10 months but got myself right back up and knew what I had to do. That was December 14th, 2015. I've been free from active addiction ever since. There is so much work that goes into my recovery but it's worth it. I have 2 children who have there father. I have a family who has their son, brother, cousin, and uncle back. Just to get a glimpse of what my life is like today, I'm chair and secretary for a Friday night 12 step group, I hold a position in 12 step Area service, I'm a board member of Great Bear Recovery Collective a group dedicated to building a recovery community, I'm a certified recovery coach for NCADD, I'm a peer support for the re-entry coalition which helps people coming out of incarceration who have substance use disorder, I'm a licensed chemical dependency counselor technician and working toward becoming a chemical dependency counselor. Life is still really hard and I have to fight this disease daily but it's all worth it because there are moments that are so good, I have hope today and I'm happy. I thank whatever is out there than is bigger than me for helping me along the way and of course thank you to Lakeview and it's staff. You are always bettering your practices and I'll be trying to bring those to my community to save more lives.
I give Lakeview the credit for helping me get my life back. Lakeview not only treats your addiction but your mental health as well. They provide you with the tools to live a clean and sober life.

  • The folks at Lakeview treated me like gold. The turnaround in my life is a miracle and Lakeview played a very large part in many ways. I did not believe I was going to get well let alone become a principle and CEO in an actual treatment center myself! My story is one of experience, strength, and hope. Miracles do happen and mine began at Lakeview. Thanks to two people specifically, and the rest of the team. I will be forever grateful.

  • This program definitely gave me the tools I needed to change my life. My sister went there a few years ago and it had changed a lot when I arrived a year ago. My Therapist was amazing and definitely helped me address some things I have been hiding from and using as a result of not dealing with. I have a year clean now and still am a part of the local Alumni. I would definitely send a loved one here as long as they are ready to do the work they will make it!!!
After receiving treatment at Lakeview in 2010 I was able to stay clean for five plus years. At that time I was somewhat unimpressed with their amenities and the food I received throughout the treatment process. With that said, I was given the tools to take back control of my life and I'm very appreciative of the friendly staff and other patients I was able to spend some difficult time with. In late 2015 I fell on hard times after going through a divorce. Being alone triggered behaviors that I hadn't experienced in quite sometime. I managed to get by for the next six months while living a complex lie, often times jeopardizing what I did have remaining in my life, a job. When that life became unmanagble I reached back out to Lakeview as they were local and one of the only known providers in North Florida. The intake department remembered who I was and educated me on my insurance and what to expect throughout the treatment process. Although I was severely depressed at the time I was also excited to once again put myself in a position for change, in a safe place. Now 90 days clean once again and using this night to reflect I wanted to tell you about my latest experience. The facility has been totally transformed, I mean night and day! The programming which I found helpful before is now just that along with fun. And the food, surroundings and staff have all gone to the next level. One of the best six weeks of my life.. I'm hopeful this is my last time visiting the center but I am once again thankful for their being, I'm hopeful and more importantly, CLEAN today. Thank you!

  • Great councilors and very good programs. Bedtime was way to early, and some of the staff members were a little rude and disrespectful. All in all I came out of it feeling that it had a positive impact on my road to recovery, and After the program ended i felt a hole lot better about myself and had a good understanding on how to cope with my addictions

  • Dual diagnosis? My daughter never saw a Psychiatrist, nor a complete psychiatric evaluation. Other "therapies" offered (horse, beach, anything off-campus) - no. Unheard of HUGE bills ( you think the "spa" treatment centers in Malibu are expensive? You could send your loved one to those for less than the amount charged here). Do you mind having e-mails and phone messages (that are important and need answers) from the professionals where your loved one is - even when you are the main contact person for the patient? JUST SAY NO ! A nightmare for the family.

  • I am glad I was able to overcome my addictions, but I believe it should be simpler for people w/o money or insurance to have the same chance I was able to get. I can't complain, it was not supposed to please me. I was there to learn to live without my ego.

  • Lakeview saved my life. I walked in there broken, depressed, at my wits end and I let them take over every aspect of my life. I surrendered and when I did that life got easier. Role playing in the groups was very beneficial. I was a client 7.5 years ago and there ha d been a lot of construction, so we were bussed from main campus to north which was a nuisance. I am still sober.

  • Lakeview Health has transitioned into one of the leading dual diagnosis treatment facilities in the country. They customize treatment to meet the needs of every person who comes through the door. Detoxing, inpatient services, and the food is great. Now with the two story fitness center, yoga, surfing, and equine therapy, they have taught patients how to cope and given them the tools to help manage anxiety. I am grateful to be a part of the team that continues to save lives. I highly recommend you go here.

  • They are in the addiction treatment business, and they did just that. The value of this place is the treatment, while the facilities are nice. This place was not a spa environment. No swimming pool, but who needs one? I needed treatment, not a spa treatment like the one other one I was involved with two years prior. There were very few extras, but the treatment is where they shined.

  • Even if Lakeview were [upscale], it would not matter in the overall effectiveness of the rehab programm. The addict/alcoholic must be receptive, honest and willing to make the life changes in order to recover. Without that, the facility is just an address. It all starts with the patient. (Sober 5 yrs - 5/13/2010...12step model, aftercare insight, great staff, comfort)

  • The level of treatment that I received while at Lakeview was exceptional. They took into consideration my dietary needs. The staff were professional while still making you feel at home and relaxed and comfortable around them, I felt safe. The classes were engaging and informative. During the second half, when I was moved into regular housing for transition before going home (2 weeks before) I was well prepared for the move, and there was always a counselor on premises if needed, and group therapy was continued. It has now been 10 years 8 months I have had my sobriety.
