ABOUT HAZELDEN BETTY FORD FOUNDATION – CHICAGO
Hazelden in Chicago is one of the renowned facilities of the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation, operating in nine states. In Chicago, we offer day treatment and morning and evening intensive outpatient (IOP) sessions for adults and teens. Additionally, we operate a structured sober living facility in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood for individuals who do not have a supportive home environment.
Please note that detox services are not available at our Chicago facility.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
In Chicago, Hazelden combines the use of the 12-Steps with evidence-based approaches. Upon completion of an initial assessment of substance abuse, mental health disorders, and other co-occurring issues, patients can choose the outpatient track that best suits their needs: day treatment, morning IOP, or evening IOP.
Day treatment is our most intensive level of care, offered Monday through Friday from 8:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. For individuals transitioning from inpatient treatment or experiencing relapse, IOP provides a step-down option with sessions taking place in the morning and evening. In both tracks, patients receive personalized treatment plans as well as recommendations for ongoing care.
Regardless of scheduling needs, all outpatient treatment patients have access to Hazelden in Chicago’s gender-specific structured sober living facility. As residents of the facility, patients benefit from 24-hour supervision, drug testing, life skills training, easy access to 12-step meetings, and recovery coaching.
Hazelden in Chicago also offers a unique three-session counseling program for at-risk teens called “Teen Intervene.” Through one-on-one sessions with a dedicated counselor, teens gain a better understanding of the impact of substance abuse and learn to make healthier decisions. For teens in need of more regular treatment, we offer an IOP track that takes place four evenings per week.
In addition, we provide weekly support groups for families at no additional cost.
