ABOUT PRAIRIE VIEW, INC.

Prairie View, one of 102 private, nonprofit substance abuse treatment facilities in Kansas, offers a range of services for individuals struggling with chemical dependency, mental health and co-occurring disorders. Substance use treatment includes inpatient care, an intensive outpatient program (IOP), and outpatient program (OP).

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

At Prairie View, substance use treatment begins with an evaluation to determine the best level of care. The inpatient Addiction Treatment Center (ATC), located on the main campus in Newton, Kan., addresses both the substance use and the underlying factors that may contribute to addictive behavior.

This comprehensive treatment approach, which builds upon the 12-step model of recovery through group and other forms of therapy and interventions, seeks to resolve complicated issues and prevent relapses. Inpatient clients also engage in daily physical exercise, nondenominational spirituality groups, and participate in aftercare planning during the program, which generally lasts 21 to 28 days.

The IOP operates Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the organization’s East Wichita facility. Clients participate in nine hours of weekly group therapy as well as individual and family sessions. The OP for adults and youth addresses substance use disorders through individual and family therapy.
