ABOUT BELLEFONTE HOSPITAL BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CENTER

Located just outside of Bellefonte in Ashland, Kentucky, Bellefonte Hospital’s Behavioral Health program offers inpatient and outpatient treatment services to adults struggling with chemical dependency, mental health problems, and/or dual diagnosis. A detoxification unit is located on-site.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

The inpatient chemical dependency program is designed for short-term treatment and stabilization. Services include group, individual, and family therapy, medication assisted treatment (MAT), 12-step facilitation, relapse prevention, recreational therapy, and aftercare planning.

Outpatient services are also offered at Bellefonte Hospital and include group therapy sessions, along with on-site Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), Narcotics Anonymous (NA), and Al-Anon meetings.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

According to the hospital’s website, the treatment team includes registered nurses, recreational therapists, and licensed clinical therapists. The one alum surveyed by Best-rehabs.com to date gave Bellefonte Hospital three out of five stars for its staff’s level of training and experience.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

The hospital’s inpatient unit and detox unit have 12 beds each. There is also a 16-bed psychiatric unit designed specifically for seniors. The one former client polled by Best-rehabs.com at the time of this writing gave the facility three out of five stars for its accommodations and amenities.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

K.R., the one alum polled by Best-rehabs.com to date, gave Bellefonte Hospital’s Behavioral Health Program mixed feedback. The reviewer’s biggest complaint was the program’s lack of activities — they awarded the hospital just one out of five stars for its counseling options, its exercise and leisure activities, and its 12-step inclusion and wrote: “This facility is just a quick detox. It doesn’t offer a lot of counseling. They give you your detox med and basically the rest of the day you read or watch TV.” Higher ratings of four and five stars were given to Bellefonte for its meals and nutrition and its cleanliness. When asked, on a scale from one to five, if they would recommend the facility, the alum gave a rating of three.

FINANCING

According to the facility’s website, most commercial insurance is accepted, along with Medicaid and Medicare. A financial assistance program is available for uninsured clients. The one alum surveyed by Best-rehabs.com to date gave Bellefonte Hospital two out of five stars for its affordability.

  • They do allow you to just lay around where you don't feel good. There isn't a lot to do there to keep your mind occupied. This facility is just a quick detox. It doesn't offer a lot of counseling. They give you your detox med and basically the rest of the day you read or watch tv.
