ABOUT SINAI HOSPITAL ADDICTIONS RECOVERY PROGRAM (SHARP)
The Sinai Hospital Addictions Recovery Program (SHARP) offers medication-assisted therapy designed for adults struggling with opiate dependency. In addition to methadone services, SHARP also incorporates an array of evidence-based treatment approaches on an outpatient basis to assist individuals in early recovery from addiction. The Baltimore hospital’s psychiatry department offers integrated treatment to address clients’ co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
SHARP is designed to address both the physical and behavioral health aspects of chemical dependency. Through case management services, clients can receive coordinated primary medical care through the hospital as well as referrals to other social services.
Along with medication assisted therapy, clients participate in clinician-led group and individual counseling sessions. SHARP also facilitates family counseling and education.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
Treatment team members include a board certified psychiatrist and master’s level clinicians.
WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY
At the time of this writing, feedback on Sinai’s psychiatry department and SHARP is scarce. The sole individual polled by Best-rehabs.com to date, a former client’s loved one, indicated overall satisfaction with their experience, rating both the effectiveness of treatment and opportunities for family involvement four stars out of five.
Receiving even more favorable ratings were the availability of dual diagnosis treatment, the staff’s level of training and experience, and the facility’s cleanliness and upkeep. Citing “employee care and knowledge” as facility strengths, the reviewer identified a lack of exercise and leisure activities as a weakness resulting in client “boredom.”
On Yelp, about four dozen individuals contributed to an average rating of just 2.5 out of five stars for the general hospital. Most reviews referenced the ER, many complaining of long wait times.[1]
WHAT STAFF SAY
While Best-rehabs.com has yet to receive employee feedback, 75 Indeed reviews revealed mixed opinions of Sinai Hospital as a whole. Former and current staff members tended to cite co-workers and the quality of care provided as facility strengths, although some reported issues with under-staffing.[2]
