The facility’s treatment program follows the 12-step method for recovery. Throughout treatment, clients attend classes all day in a structured environment. Classes focus on providing coping skills, helping clients understand how the brain works in addiction, and improving communication. Participants needing detox may receive medication as part of the facility’s medically assisted treatment offerings. Families are able to be included in the treatment program through family therapy if desired, and the facility also offers a two-hour family support program on Tuesday evenings.

In the evenings, clients are allowed to watch TV or movies, do word search, Sudoku or crossword puzzles, or read books. Although Gilmore Community Healing Center does not have a formal aftercare program, clients are encouraged to attend 12-step meetings after they have completed treatment.

  • a small facility with small group activities more one on one with your therapist. I found the counselors to be judgemental we're not recovering addict and felt that they blamed us for our situations. I have remained in recovery sticking closely with my personal plan of recovery. I have severe social anxiety making NA and AA meetings almost impossible. counselors should consider plans of recovery more suited to the individual. most importantly two weeks is certainly not enough time to be educated in the disease of addiction
