ABOUT NORTH KENT GUIDANCE SERVICES (NKGS)
North Kent Guidance Services (NKGS) operates two facilities in mid-western Michigan: one in Grand Rapids and this facility in a quiet location on the outskirts of the small city of Greenville. Both centers offer outpatient treatment for individuals struggling with a wide range of mental and behavioral health disorders.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
NKGS offers extensive assessment services, including psychological testing and diagnostics for disabilities, learning difficulties, and gerontology, as well as substance use assessments, drivers license evaluations, and other forensic services.
Counseling is offered in individual, family, and group settings. Clients work to meet goals and objectives that they set themselves, in collaboration with their therapist.
There’s a dedicated center for children and families, which offers evidence-based modalities such as eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and dielectical behavior therapy (DBT) as well as more holistic offerings, such as play therapy, grief and loss therapy, and parenting education and therapy. The center can treat scenarios such as eating disorders, cutting, trauma, and problematic social skills. There are also dedicated services for the LGBT community.
Treatment is available in the daytime, evenings, and on Saturdays, in order to fit a variety of schedules.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
The team includes licensed, PhD-level psychologists, master’s level counselors, and licensed social workers. The single individual polled by Best-rehabs.com to date gave the facility five out of five stars for its staff’s level of training and experience.
