ABOUT RIVER’S BEND PC
River’s Bend has been providing mental health and substance abuse treatment to children, adolescents, and adults for over 20 years in Troy, Mich. Their outpatient behavioral health care encompasses a full range of services, including on-site ambulatory and Suboxone detoxification.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Intensive outpatient (IOP) services for substance abuse are available for adults (age 18 and up) and adolescents (between ages 12 and 17). Treatment begins with three to five days of detoxification, if necessary, before clients can engage in regular programming. IOP sessions last three hours and consist of both an educational and a group therapy component. Frequency of attendance is dependent upon each individual’s personalized treatment plan.
Clients in the IOP program engage in 12-step meetings and learn how to repair relationships, face consequences, and manage a sober life. Loved ones are encouraged to participate unless the client is a minor – then it is required.
Outside of treatment for addiction, clients may participate in individual, group, and family counseling for other mental health disorders as well. The facility offers wellness classes in nutrition, weight management, and anxiety. There are also groups for stress management that teach relaxation techniques, anger management, and time management with a specialized track for healthcare professionals. Yoga and acupuncture may also be utilized to facilitate recovery.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY
The single anonymous former client to provide feedback for this facility to Best-rehabs.com gave mostly ratings of four out of five stars for aspects such as treatment effectiveness, holistic and counseling options, staff’s ability to treat co-occurring disorders, and cost worthiness. The same reviewer wrote: “good people working there” and praised the “good environment.” Ratings fell slightly when it came to connectivity and the staff’s level of training and experience, and the alum indicated that the facility was understaffed.
Reviewers on Yelp had mixed experiences as well. One of just three reviewers, Barbara, gave all five out of five stars for the staff’s level of support; however, David and M.D. were extremely dissatisfied and left only one star each.
