ABOUT FLATHEAD VALLEY CHEMICAL DEPENDENCY CLINIC
Flathead Valley Chemical Dependency Clinic of Kalispell, Mont. is one of four outpatient-based clinics operated by the treatment provider, which offers traditional outpatient and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) for adults and adolescents struggling with chemical dependency.
In addition, the facility offers a specialized program for DUI offenders and operates a residential treatment program for women struggling with chemical dependency. The residential facility does not provide detoxification services.

To identify individual client needs and appropriate level of care, individuals first participate in an initial assessment before beginning treatment. For DUI offenders, Flathead Valley Chemical Dependency Clinic also provides substance use disorder assessments that meet Montana requirements for driver license reinstatement.
According to the facility’s website, Flathead Valley Chemical Dependency Clinic’s outpatient-based programs outpatient-based programs primarily consist of individual, group, and family counseling sessions. Through these sessions, clients start to identify the emotional, social, and psychological contributors that may have led to chemical dependency. Clients may also learn coping techniques, methods for trigger avoidance, and skills for regulating emotions and irrational thinking patterns.
Available to both adults and adolescents, Flathead Valley Chemical Dependency Clinic’s DUI Program consists of 12 hours of educational programming on substance abuse disorders, as well as strategies to prevent relapse. The educational treatment program satisfies the Montana requirements for driver license reinstatement.
Along with its outpatient programs, Flathead Valley Chemical Dependency Clinic also operates a Women’s Recovery Home that offers two primary services. The residential program offers treatment for chemical dependency, which may include group counseling sessions and educational classes. In addition, the home facilitates skills-training workshops designed to assist women transition back into the community. These workshops may address obtaining employment, locating supportive housing, continuing education, budgeting, and developing a peer-support network.

Another reviewer described a counselor as “unprepared” and aloof.

Out of five stars, the survey respondent offered three-star ratings for the facility’s counseling options, the level of family participation, and the facility’s ability to treat co-occurring disorders. Describing the staff as “friendly,” the loved one gave a four-star rating for the staff’s level of experience and training.

Describing the staff as “friendly” and “great,” the survey respondent gave a four-star rating for the staff’s level of experience. However, the employee added: “Poor management, very little communication, poor leadership by supervisors, poor ceu training opportunities.”
FINANCING
According to the facility’s website, Flathead Valley Chemical Dependency Clinic accepts most private insurance plans, as well as Medicaid and the Montana Help Plan. The DUI program costs $400.
