ABOUT IMANI HOUSE IN KANSAS CITY, MO

Swope Health Services operates the Imani House in Kansas City, Mo. The facility provides residential programs, offered by 58 (20.3%) Missouri facilities; outpatient programs, offered by 251 (87.8%) facilities in the state; and intensive outpatient programs, available at only 172 (60.1%) Missouri facilities. The facility is open to all people who are struggling with addiction.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

According to Swope Health Services’ website, the first level of treatment is day treatment with residential support. It is designed for people with severe drug dependence, people who have a limited social support system, or individuals who are unable to refrain from chemical use. Clients are also able to participate in day treatment without the residential support program.

The second level of care is intensive outpatient. This is for people with a mild to moderate dependence, who have a support system, and who have successfully completed Level I.

Level III is a supported recovery outpatient program, and it is for those with symptoms of drug abuse, who have a support system, and who have completed Level I and/or Level II.

All programming includes individual counseling, group therapy and education, family counseling, individualized treatment, and case management services. The center strongly encourages family participation.

Imani Houses also provides other services such as screenings and assessments, clinical programming, case management services, evidence-based treatment strategies, and medication-assisted treatment.

The center’s staff is available to assist patients with transportation, housing, utilities, job searches, and literacy.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

According to the center’s website, the treatment team includes counselors and case managers. In Missouri, 98.8% of all substance abuse treatment facilities have continuing education requirements for staff.

The sole alum polled by Best-rehabs.com to date gave staff level of training and support five out of five stars.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

There is currently no information provided by the facility regarding its living arrangements and related offerings. However, the alum that was surveyed by Best-rehabs.com at the time of this writing gave the center five out of five stars for accommodations, as well as five out of five stars for cleanliness.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

The one alum, C.A., that was surveyed by Best-rehabs.com at the time of this writing provided a positive review. She noted that entering the facility was a personal choice, and that she selected this particular center because “it was a facility that really succeeded.” C.A. completed her treatment in a 30-60 day time-frame, and she gave perfect five-star ratings to exercise options, holistic offerings, and the center’s connectivity policies. This former client felt the treatment was worth the cost, and explained “I was given the tools to start life anew and to clean.”

In her additional comments, C.A. noted, “My experience was one of profound insight into the matter of addiction, and how it is a disease as well as a physical, social and mental disorder, that is crippling and debilitating. It gave me my life back. The counselors pulled no punches, they helped me.”

Reviews on secondary sites are scarce, and the one Google user to provide feedback on this facility to date gave five stars, but left no written comments.[1]

FINANCING

According to Imani Houses’ website, the center accepts private insurances, Medicaid, and Medicare. The center’s HealthGrove page also makes note that Access to Recovery (ATR) Vouchers are accepted, which is only true of 20.3% of facilities in Missouri. A sliding fee scale may be available as well.
