Rimrock Billings Montana

Rimrock Foundation is the largest treatment center in the Yellowstone Valley region, offering comprehensive care for substance abuse and dual diagnosis, as well as sex addiction, eating disorders and codependency. The facility offers detox, residential, day treatment and outpatient services, all of which are designed to address each client’s emotional, physical, spiritual and social well-being. Evidence-based treatments are combined with 12-Step methodology to provide clients with a well-rounded recovery experience and the opportunity to achieve balance in their lives.

ABOUT RIMROCK

Located in downtown Billings, a city in the heart of Yellowstone Valley, Rimrock offers residential and outpatient care for adults and adolescents struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders. While 62 of the 64 (96.9 percent) treatment facilities in Montana offer substance abuse treatment, Rimrock is one of 31 (48.4 percent) of facilities to also offer mental health treatment and diagnoses. The facility is also equipped to treat a range of conditions, including substance abuse, sex addiction, gambling, and eating disorders. Medical detox is available on-site.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

According to Rimrock’s website, its treatment aims to address emotional, physical, spiritual, and social health. Treatment combines the 12-Steps with evidence-based methods.

For adults, treatment begins with an in-depth interview and psychological evaluation. The residential program includes psychiatric services, individual and group counseling, family therapy (including a family week program), education, a recreation program, spirituality sessions, and art therapy.

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is similar to the residential program and offers up to 12 hours of treatment a day. There’s also an intensive outpatient program (IOP) and general outpatient care, which includes Seeking Safety meetings, a family violence program, and motivational enhancement therapy (MET). All clients are invited to attend weekly aftercare meetings for a minimum of 12 weeks after completing treatment.

A gender-separate adolescent residential program lasts a minimum of 35 days and includes many of the same treatment modalities as adult inpatient care, plus canine therapy at a local animal shelter and Seven Challenges, a program specific to adolescents. A state-certified teacher provides tutoring and group learning. There’s also an adolescent IOP.

However, more than one alum criticized the food, and two wrote that they felt the program was too short. “Staff was good and kind, but the program itself is not long enough to be able to learn skills and maintain sobriety,” alum Elizabeth wrote.

  • Rimrock Reviews

Do not send your kids to the adolescent house unless you personally know the staff. My son was refused treatment in less then 12 hours to accommodate a resident that wanted his own room. Rimrock charged me $1800 for less then 12 hours of "services". The resident made a false claim about my son, and manipulated the staff into "kicking him out". They called my son a threat to the residents, the supervisor, called to apologise for the "miscommunication", and that my son was welcome back after the other resident left. They detained my son and refused to let me speak to him. Again do not send your kids to rimrock

compassionate, effective, broad selection of treatment options that fit the patient's needs, focus on whole-person healing, trained, professional staff. I would recommend Rimrock foundation for any person facing addiction! As a family member, I can honestly say that I, too, am a better person as I was faced with really searching my own behaviors and how they affected the family dynamics. I am so thankful for the healing that took place and the wonderful relationship I have with my brother now!

  • Community outreach and education. Caring staff that are committed to helping. Most have experienced addiction issues themselves and can relate. I saw weakness in the outpatient program. My family member had gone to other treatment facilities in larger cities. This one by far was the best for long term help and the staff is top notch.

  • A caring, dedicated and qualified staff. 28 day treatment program may not be long enough for some people. As a family member, I can attest to the strength and effectiveness of family week, not only for my brother, but for me and my mom and dad as well.

  • Staff was good and kind, but the program itself is not long enough to be able to learn skills and maintain sobriety. Classes and groups are well put together and the family week there is one of the best I've experienced. With that being said though, mental health issues need to be addressed more and I believe there should be classes for this as well as drug/alcohol classes and groups. But 28 days is definitely not enough time for inpatient treatment. 60-90 days is more effective in staying sober. Overall I'd give Rimrock a 4.

  • The detox was an excellent aspects of the facility. However, the weaknesses of the facility included: 12 Step Model, private money makes it impossible to afford, Medicaid clients wait for state bed and it takes 4 to 6 months. I have heard that they do not have a good handle on their staff and patients. They are not culturally orientated, and very 12 step with AA and NA being a major construct of treatment philosophy. Choose not to treat tobacco as clients can smoke, very hypocritical..

  • They have a genuine concern for people they treat. I have known a few people who have been to Rimrock, and were all successful with the program. One of them was recently hired as a counselor to share his story and help others in their recovery.

  • I believe that having the right counselor who will challenge you and help you dig deep and be honest, honest, honest with yourself and fellow patients and family, was a great help. I've had family members in other facilities which did not demand honesty and self-honesty to dig into the real causes of self-medication with alcohol and how to find other ways to deal with the causes and the scars from it.
