TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Brynn Marr’s Child/Adolescent Inpatient Psychiatric Services program is for children and teens with severe emotional problems, mental illness, substance abuse issues and developmental disabilities. The Adult Inpatient Psychiatric & Addiction Services program is for adults struggling with severe depression, suicidal and/or homicidal thoughts, or a severe mental illness. The Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF), also called the Passages Program, is for girls ages 12 to 17 who are dealing with issues of PTSD, depression, self-injurious behaviors and substance use disorder.
Throughout treatment, clients may receive medication management, individual therapy, group therapy, medication and nutritional education, and onsite Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous meetings. Youth treatment may include specialty programming on family dynamics, life skills, social skills, and leisure education. The Passages program for teen girls also offers adjunctive therapy, a five-day-a-week academic curriculum, family therapy, and spiritual services. Brynn Marr Hospital offers unique treatments and therapy including art therapy, music therapy, and yoga.
The treatment team at Brynn Marr Hospital includes psychiatrists, registered nurses, therapists, care coordinators, and mental health workers.
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
The facility offers separate treatment areas for its child, adolescent, and adult programs, as well as a psychiatric residential treatment facility for youth. Photos on the Brynn Marr Hospital website show shared rooms, a classroom, an outdoor recreation area, indoor basketball court, game room, and therapeutic quiet room. The facility is equipped with a gym, outdoor courtyards with playground equipment and picnic tables, and a dining room.
WHAT ALUMNI SAY
At the time of this writing there has been one alumni polled by Best-rehabs.com. Alum F.S. gave the facility low ratings, but had wonderful things to say about his experience at Brynn Marr. The alum gave the facility one out of five stars for treatment effectiveness, one star for accommodations & amenities, and one star for meals & nutrition. F.S., who is between 40 and 59 years old, entered rehab for substance abuse based on a friend or family member referral. F.S. stayed for 30-60 days, completed treatment successfully, and did not enter sober living after leaving the facility. F.S.. has been out of the facility for over a year. The client agreed that treatment at Brynn Marr Hospital was worth the cost, adding that the facility extensively uses the 12 step program. F.S. relapsed after leaving the program and did not reenter the facility, saying he instead returned to Alcoholics Anonymous Meetings. The alum said he would recommend Brynn Marr to others, and wrote, “great all around facility!” He also added additional commentary stating, “Outstanding and caring staff.”
On the facility’s Google page, there is an overall rating of two out of five stars based on 53 total reviews.  Most reviews are overwhelmingly negative, and many reviewers said the facility staff forced them to take medication. Alum D.G., who gave one star, said that staff at the facility were “cruel.” She wrote, “Never go here!!!! Just pretend to be happy so you can leave sooner, I was taught to keep my feelings buried and that nobody gives a care that you have problems.” M.A., another alum, supported that viewpoint. She gave one star and wrote, “I went here, I stayed for 2 weeks. All we did was colour all day or watch movies. I only saw the doctor for 5 mintues and the staff half of them don’t care. Please don’t send you’re children here.”
