TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
The Guilford County Residential Treatment Facility offers evidence-based treatment methods. The program duration is a minimum of 30 days, but the actual length depends on the individual’s situation and treatment progress. Participants engage in a full day of scheduled programming, including individual, group, and family therapy sessions, as well as educational sessions on relapse prevention and life skills training. The program also introduces 12-step philosophies and practices, with clients regularly attending 12-step meetings.
Families may visit on Saturdays and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., if approved by the resident’s primary therapist. Families are regularly updated on the client’s progress and any changing needs. Upon discharge, a comprehensive discharge plan is developed by clinicians, and alumni are strongly encouraged to enroll in an outpatient-based treatment program to support relapse prevention.
