Daymark Recovery Services, Inc. is a non-profit community provider of mental health and substance abuse treatment services for adults and children. With 33 facilities located throughout North Carolina, Daymark offers crisis intervention, psychiatric services, and outpatient-based treatment programs for individuals struggling with mental health disorders, chemical dependency, and co-occurring issues. TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Upon admission, clients undergo a psychosocial assessment to determine their needs and recommend an appropriate level of care. The Surry Center provides specialized mental health outpatient treatment for adults and children, as well as an intensive outpatient program for chemical dependency. Walk-in assessments and crisis interventions are available during weekdays.

The intensive outpatient program requires a minimum of nine hours of weekly programming. This program is only available to adults with substance abuse and/or mental illness. Treatment includes individual and group counseling, life skills education, and relapse prevention training. Referrals are made for aftercare services and relevant community programs.

Outpatient treatment involves group counseling sessions and educational classes. The center utilizes evidence-based therapies such as dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing (MI), Seeking Safety, Matrix, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques. Individual therapy, group counseling sessions, psychiatric evaluations, and medication management are also offered to minimize symptoms of mental health disorders for both adults and children.

In addition, the Surry Center provides intensive in-home services for children. These programs aim to provide first responder interventions during crises, promote the use of community services and resources, and prevent the need for out-of-home treatment. The service is available 24/7.
