ABOUT THE CARTER CENTER
One of five locations throughout North Carolina, the Carter Clinic of Raleigh provides outpatient-based treatment services for adults, youth, and families struggling with chemical dependency, psychiatric disorders, and co-occurring difficulties. The facility also provides medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for individuals struggling with opioid dependency.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
To help clinicians identify specific concerns and form an individualized treatment program, clients first participate in an initial behavioral and/or psychiatric health evaluation. To treat its clients, Carter Clinic utilizes evidence-based treatment methods, which primarily blends counseling sessions with ongoing medication management.
To specialize its treatment, the clinic offers both substance abuse- and psychiatric-specific counseling sessions, as well as specialized services for children and adolescents. During treatment, clients may regularly participate in one-on-one, group, and family counseling sessions. These counseling sessions may be designed to address the emotional, mental, social, and familial factors that may contribute to substance abuse disorders, mental illness, or co-occurring disorders.
If necessary, Carter Clinic also provides MAT for individuals struggling with opioid dependency. Utilizing Suboxone, the clinic strives to alleviate the discomfort of opioid withdrawal and help curb cravings. During the Suboxone regimen, clients may be required to also attend regular counseling sessions that address various topics concerning addiction and recovery, such as relapse prevention techniques, emotional regulation, and developing community-based support groups.
Along with counseling sessions, the clinic also provides ongoing medication management to help alleviate symptoms of mental health disorders and co-occurring psychiatric concerns. If necessary, clients may be referred for psychological testing to help clinicians form an appropriate medication regimen. In addition to its clinical services, Carter Clinic also offers Biblical and Christian-based counseling sessions.
