ABOUT COUNSELING & RECOVERY SERVICES OF OKLAHOMA
Counseling & Recovery Services of Oklahoma is a nonprofit community mental health center located in Tulsa, Okla. The outpatient facility treats adults, adolescents, and children who are struggling with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders. In addition, the organization works with both the criminal justice and the juvenile justice systems to those dealing with incarceration.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Treatment consists of individual and group therapy. Those seeking treatment for opioid addiction may participate in medication-assisted therapy: an outpatient program that provides opioid-replacement medications alongside compulsory individual and group therapy. It is one of only 11 facilities in the state (0.8 percent) to offer an opioid treatment plan.
Those seeking help with substance use are also aided in treatment for co-occurring mental health disorders, which the facility believes is the root cause. Counseling & Recovery Services of Oklahoma uses the Sanctuary Model of trauma-informed care, which recognizes adversity, trauma, and stress, and focuses on emotional intelligence and social issues. All clients devise safety plans and self-care plans, and problem-solve around behaviors and events.
