ABOUT LINN COUNTY ALCOHOL AND DRUG TREATMENT PROGRAM

In western Oregon, Linn County’s Department of Health Services offers prevention and outpatient treatment services to individuals struggling with alcoholism and other problematic substance use, as well as being amongst the 77 (34.5 percent) facilities in the state to provide treatment for gambling addiction. Alongside serving adults, this is one of Oregon’s 76 (34.1 percent) treatment facilities with programming for adolescents. The program also aims to promote mental wellness in general.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

For both adults and adolescents, outpatient treatment for addiction to drugs and alcohol consists of individual, group, and family counseling for chemical dependency; counseling for any co-occurring mental health disorders; psychiatric consultations and medication management; and education about chemical dependency and recovery. When necessary, the center can also provide referrals to residential treatment and other resources for both adults and adolescents, and drug-free housing assistance for adults.

In Oregon, 5.98 percent of adolescents ages 12 to 17 exhibited substance use disorder in the past year. The adolescent program at this facility offers treatment compatible with Juvenile Drug Court. Treatment appears to be available only at a general outpatient intensity; no intensive outpatient or partial hospitalization programs are detailed on the facility’s website.

The center offers a similar combination of counseling, education, and psychiatric/medication management services for individuals struggling with problems gambling.

There is currently no information provided by the facility regarding its treatment staff; however, 99.2 percent of all substance abuse treatment centers in the state of Oregon have higher education requirements for staff. The single alum polled by Best-rehabs.com to date would strongly recommend the program at Linn County Alcohol and Drug Treatment Program. “Great counselors, they really know how to help you dig deep enough to find the source of your addiction,” the anonymous reviewer wrote, giving the facility just one star for its holistic offerings, but four or five stars in nearly all of the 15 remaining treatment metrics. Five-star ratings were awarded to the facility’s treatment effectiveness, counseling options, and ability to treat co-occurring disorders.

Secondary sites yielded limited and polarized feedback at the time of this writing, with a one-star rating and a five-star rating on Google, neither of which was accompanied by any commentary.[1]
