ABOUT INACT

InAct is operated by Volunteers of America Oregon, a non-profit organization that strives to empower, educate, and protect the most vulnerable members of the community. Located east of downtown Portland, InAct offers outpatient services for individuals struggling with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. As part of its offering, the center also provides services for problem gamblers and individuals facing criminal charges. Additionally, specialized programming for Spanish-speaking clients is available.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Through its Open Services program, InAct provides individual, group, and family counseling for individuals with substance abuse and mental health disorders. Before beginning the program, clients first undergo an initial assessment to determine the most appropriate course of treatment. Depending on their needs, participants may also receive naturopathic medical services, medication management, psychiatric assessment, and DUI education. All treatment is intended to be holistic and individualized to each client’s unique needs.

For clients with criminal charges, the facility works with the court system to provide specialized intensive services that offer an alternative to incarceration and probation. In addition to assessments, counseling, and medication management, the program’s offerings include case management services, DUI education, random urinalysis, parenting classes, and referrals to housing and employment services.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

According to a brochure published by InAct, all treatment services are provided by master’s-level clinicians. There is also a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner on-site
