ABOUT SERENITY LANE – ALBANY
Serenity Lane is a private, nonprofit substance abuse treatment center with numerous locations throughout Oregon as well as an office in Washington state. The Albany facility, which is set near Interstate 5, offers intensive outpatient services for adults. A medically monitored detox unit is available at Serenity Lane’s hospital and inpatient facility, which is located about 35 miles south in Coburg.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
All potential clients take initial intake interview with an admissions counselor to discuss their personal history and determine the most appropriate level of care. Roseburg’s intensive outpatient program (IOP) is divided into two phases. The first lasts 10 weeks and involves one-on-one counseling, intensive group therapy, addiction education, and regular drug testing. Treatment groups meet for three hours, three times a week, at varying days and times to accommodate client’s schedules as best as possible.
The second phase of treatment, called Recovery Support, lasts for a year and includes 90-minute treatment groups once a week. Clients must also attend at least two AA or NA meetings a week. A family education group is offered each week for loved ones.

The treatment team includes a program director who’s a certified alcohol and drug counselor. The 16 individuals polled by Best-rehabs.com on the staff’s level of experience gave an average rating of four out of five stars.
WHAT ALUMNI SAY
Alumni response to Serenity Lane has been largely positive. When asked how likely they would be to recommend the facility, four alumni gave an average rating of 4.75 out of five stars. Staff experience was one of the highest rated aspects of the program, with a rating of 4.5 stars. “Great family program, good relapse prevention treatment, caring counselors, unique extended-stay program called ExSL designed for relapse-prone individuals” Writes one anonymous alum.
The facility’s Facebook page, which it can manage, received an average rating of 4.6 out of five stars based on 32 reviews, at time of writing. “Excellent staff, beautiful campus,” reviewer Kyle wrote. Another reviewer added, “I just completed 17 months worth of alcohol treatments & must say it was amazing.”
WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY
Response from loved ones were mixed. When asked if they would recommend Serenity Lane the 12 loved ones who responded to the Best-rehabs.com survey gave an average rating of 3.4 out of five stars. The staff’s level of training and experience was again one of the highest rated facets of the facility, with an average of 3.83 stars. Family participation averaged only 3.25 stars. Most complaints about Serenity Lane centered around the accommodations and the aging facility.
FINANCING
According to the Serenity Lane’s website, most major insurance plans are accepted. Serenity Lane also offers scholarships and other financial assistance to clients who qualify.
