The treatment philosophy of Origins Behavioral HealthCare represents a rare fusion of contemporary addiction medicine and clinical sciences with a profound immersion in the timeless 12-Step experience. Hannah’s House by Origins is a dual diagnosis residential addiction treatment center “by women, exclusively for women.” This boutique program combines extraordinary bayside living accommodations with sophisticated clinical and medical care. The staff at Hannah’s House by Origins is dedicated to helping women begin to heal by compassionately tending to the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual issues that exacerbate addiction.
ABOUT HANNAH’S HOUSE BY ORIGINS
Located on Texas’ South Padre Island, Hannah’s House by Origins – one of several upscale residential rehab programs run by Origins Behavioral Healthcare throughout Texas and Florida – provides medically monitored detox services and residential addiction and mental health treatment designed exclusively for women.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
All women enrolled at Origins begin with a comprehensive assessment to determine an appropriate course of treatment.
Programming at this gender-specific, women’s program combines the 12 Steps with both evidence-based, and trauma-informed approaches. Whether in treatment for 30 or 90 days, women take part in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and motivational interviewing (MI), as well as more experiential activities such as psychodrama, equine therapy, and arts and adventure therapy.
As a dual diagnosis facility, Hannah’s House offers additional support services including psychiatric care, medication management, psychotherapy, and medical supervision. Those with co-occurring disorders can tackle highly sensitive issues such as sexual and physical trauma, eating disorders, and body-image.
The facility also invites families to get involved in their loved one’s recovery process, offering ongoing comprehensive aftercare support for all successful program graduates.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
The staff includes physicians, nurses, master’s level therapists, and licensed chemical dependency counselors.
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
Women share well-appointed rooms in a 35-bed, resort-style facility overlooking the bay. Amenities include gourmet meals, an outdoor pool, and a gym. As the center sits directly on the Laguna Madre bay, women benefit from a variety of holistic and recreational activities such as yoga and volleyball.
Cell phones, laptops, and other electronic equipment are not permitted during treatment.
WHAT ALUMNI SAY
Alumni reporting to Best-rehabs.com to date shared varying levels of approval; while three celebrated the “Amazing Facility” and all that it offered, Stephanie, a third reviewer, disclosed issues of favoritism, false advertising, poor food, and “tons of drama.” “Be careful of what they advertise and during admissions,” she warned others.
Much in contrast, others described their recovery experiences as problem-free. In addition to giving the highest possible ratings for the overall quality of counseling here, Jennifer recommended Origins for providing her with the necessary tools to change her life. “I wanted a treatment center that provided psychological care along with the tools for addiction recovery and Origins delivered,” she wrote. “I saw a medical staff member every day during my treatment and was given excellent suggestions for after care.”
Though she provided no ratings, alum Allison commented on the “Very Nice” house: “Close Knit Feel, Great accountability, amazing 12 step program.”
WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY
Commentary provided by a pair of loved ones, each of whom gave five stars for treatment effectiveness, was unequivocally excellent. “I am so great full for the entire staff” L.C. remarked. “I went to a family weekend and learnd so much and the staff was extremely helpful and welcomeing..I feel truly blessed I was able to send my daughter to such a wonderful place.”
Celebrating the center’s “commitment to treating the individual,” reviewer M.B.M. shared their loved one’s success story: “I credit this facility with saving her life and teaching her to live and love without substance.”

Programming costs $38,000 per month and $100,000 for 90 days. The facility accepts private insurance, but offers no financial assistance.
