ABOUT RECOVERY WAYS — MOUNTAIN VIEW

Recovery Ways Mountain View operates four treatment centers in Murray, Utah. This review focuses on the Mountain View location, which specializes in intensive outpatient (IOP) and residential addiction treatment.

The center’s website notes Recovery Ways’ mission “is to provide the most cost-effective, accessible substance abuse treatment to as many people as possible.”

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

According to Recovery Ways’ website, the residential treatment program is designed for people who don’t need acute care and aren’t experiencing withdrawal symptoms, but still need monitoring. Programming in residential treatment includes intensive individual and group counseling. Recovery Ways tries to keep group sessions small in order to make sure everyone gets therapy.

This program is structured, and offers at least eight hours of programming a day. The length of treatment depends on the severity of the addiction, if a client has already been through addiction, and if they have co-occurring disorders. The treatment team works with clients to help them understand triggers, deal with everyday life, and learn the tools needed to overcome addiction.

The Mountain View location also offers IOP addiction treatment, which is designed to work with the client’s daily life, and doesn’t cause much disruption. Clients in this program commit to at least three group therapy sessions a week, and individuals are introduced to the 12-steps. Both treatment programs typically lasts for 30, 60, or 90 days.

The treatment center’s website notes family integration therapy services are important to a successful addiction recovery plan. Recovery Way’s purpose for the family program is to educate and support the client’s family because addiction, substance abuse, and mental health disorders impact the entire family.

Recovery Ways offers aftercare and alumni programs after clients finish treatment.

  • It's a clean and amazing place to learn about recovery. I've been to 3 rehabs and this is the nicest I've seen. I would recommend it to anybody. Good staff and food. They took us to meetings, the gym, and other rec activities as well

  • Cleanliness, therapeutic environment, professionalism, no punitive environment. Poor upper management performance. Didn't treat employees well and they are all leaving. It was once a great place to send people to get treatment. It is now mediocre.

  • Patients can get loud and out of control while the RC's look the other way. Depending on arrival day, if it is on a Friday afternoon or on a Saturday or Sunday when the therapists have left, a patient can wonder aimlessly, alone, friendless and lost until Monday when business returns to normal. Patients should be partnered up with someone to show them around and help establish a routine. Food is excellent but meal times are very short and if you miss the scheduled time frame (which is 30 minutes) you will have nothing to eat except yogurt, or fresh fruit. No desserts are offered (except fruit) and definitely no sweets of any kind. Caffeine is cut off at 1pm. No soft drinks of any kind. These are just small things in comparison to what life has thrown at people in need of assistance with addiction, but for the rates they charge your insurance company, you'd think the patients were kept a little more comfortable. It's the little things that can make or break a recovery plan. Let's face it, there is big bucks to be made in the recovery business and these treatment centers know it. Have a loved one help in deciding on what treatment facility would be right for you. Take into consideration the average age of the clientele for a suitable environment. Review the safety stats and don't be afraid to ask questions. They are not paying you to seek treatment. You and your insurance (if applicable) are paying them. Good luck.

  • I was promised so much before choosing Recovery Ways. They never followed through on what their offer promised. And they billed my insurance company way more than expected and are still trying to bill over a year later. Horrible! They are all in it for the money.
I did a 30-day inpatient program here and can never recommend this place to anyone.

  • My son attended Recovery Ways and I attended several different family programs here as well. My family could not be more grateful of the amazing people at RW who helped to get our son back! They worked with him to create a personalized program that would help him succeed, and gave him his own room so he could focus on changing his life. They also helped me work with my insurance company so I could afford to get him the best treatment possible. I recommend anyone seeking help for themselves or a loved one to visit their website at the very least! They are life changers!
