River Park Hospital provides short-term inpatient care for adults, children, and adolescents dealing with mental health or substance abuse disorders. Residential care for children and adolescents that lasts up to one year is available. The Huntington, W.V., location also provides detoxification if needed though inpatient programming.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
River Park Hospital offers two specialized tracks for adults aged 18 and older: the Traditional Adult Track focuses on coping skills and conflict resolution while the Chemical Dependency Track assists clients recover from addiction. The hospital’s treatment methods are centered on the. Adult inpatient services typically last seven to 10 days and include evidence-based modalities.
River Park Hospital offers four specialized residential programs for adolescents. The programs for adolescent sex offenders, adolescents with co-occurring disorders, and adolescents with severe psychiatric disorders incorporate individual, group, and family therapy, on-site education programs, medication management, and other therapies. The hospital also offers a child abuse reactive program (BRIDGE) that lasts six months to a year for children ages eight to 12.
The hospital can also refer clients to outpatient services and sober living facilities.
River Park Hospital employs a multidisciplinary team of physicians, therapists, nurses, mental health technicians, activities specialists, case managers, and psychiatrists. Educational services are provided by state-licensed educators, a principal, and a school counselor.

Though Best-rehabs.com has not yet received reviews from the hospital’s alumni, third-party sites reveal poor ratings. On Google, River Park Hospital received 2.5 out of five stars from eight reviewers to date. Several individuals on the site complained about staff including Drew, who called them “rude” and “uncaring.”
On an unofficial Facebook page for River Park Hospital, 26 reviewers gave the facility an average 3.3 out of five stars.  On Yelp, two reviewers gave mixed reviews to the hospital, with one reviewer leaving a one-star rating and another giving the facility five out of five stars. 
WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY
The sole anonymous reviewer polled by Best-rehabs.com to date gave River Park Hospital a below average rating with two out of five stars given to its treatment effectiveness. The individual felt that the facility lacked “quality care.” “The staff made little effort to get to know my cousin or his history,” they noted.
WHAT STAFF SAY
Four reviewers gave an average rating of 3.4 out of five stars on third-party site Glassdoor. All four individuals complimented coworkers. 
Former employee R.P. wrote on River Park Hospital’s unofficial Facebook page: “I have to say that most of the people that work with the patients day in and day out, which are usually mostly the Mental Health Technicians really care deeply for the patients. It is a great place for a person with problems to work through them in a safe environment.” 
According to its website, River Park Hospital accepts payment through “multiple sources.” Financial counseling is available.
