ABOUT US IN RECOVERY

Based in the community of Escondido, Calif., 30 miles northeast of downtown San Diego, US in Recovery operates a sober housing program for adult men and women transitioning from a recovery program back into the community. Operating since 1999, US in Recovery works with a number of inpatient programs in the area to facilitate and ease the transition for clients during early recovery.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

As a transitional, sober housing program, clients do not require an assessment or evaluation to be admitted. The only prerequisite for admission is to be in active recovery and committed to living a sober, healthy lifestyle. US in Recovery operates one sober living facility for both men and women, the Allison House Sober Living Home.

According to the facility’s website, US in Recovery’s goal is “to work with those who require a safe environment to live while establishing and experiencing personal, career and recovery goals.” The facility’s website also states that residents are responsible for themselves and their sobriety, emphasizing the importance of independent sober living. However, a loved one polled by Best-rehabs.com at the time of this writing suggested that the home is supervised by an on-site staff.

While residing in the sober living facility, residents may be required to actively engage in recovery-oriented activities. According to the facility’s website, residents are supported by the very active recovery community of Escondido. Residents may attend 12-Step meetings and other self-help groups within the community, participate in outpatient-based programs and counseling, and pursue vocational and/or employment opportunities.

Along with a separate guest house, the sober living home also features an outdoor swimming pool, a sprawling yard for outdoor recreation, two laundry rooms, a fitness room, and two fire places. The facility also offers internet access, cable, and unlimited long-distance phone calls.

According to the facility’s website, residents also regularly attend potluck bbqs, pool parties, and other recreational activities within the recovery community of Escondido. While residents are allowed vehicles, the loved one polled by Best-rehabs.com indicated that the facility did provide transportation to recovery-related activities. As a independent sober living facility, Allison House may require residents to complete household chores and maintain the general upkeep of the facility.
