ABOUT FULL SPECTRUM RECOVERY

Located amidst lush green woods in Santa Barbara, Calif., Full Spectrum Recovery offers outpatient treatment to adults, couples, adolescents, and young adults. Dual diagnosis is available, although detox services are not.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Rather than treating addiction as a disease, the foundation of Spectrum’s treatment is based on Harm Reduction Psychotherapy, which aims to reduce or eliminate harmful or risky behavior in clients. Spectrum believes addictive disorders develop in clients due to underlying pain and trauma.

Treatment includes motivational interviewing, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and trauma-based cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Couples therapy is based on Imago Relationship Therapy and seeks to help clients become more conscious of their relationships. Therapy oriented toward adolescents and young adults is available as well.

Other treatment services include groups such as 12-step (for appropriate clients) and SMART Recovery, coaching for clients, intervention assistance, and a DrinkChoice program that helps clients reduce their drinking to moderate levels after a period of time.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

Spectrum employs therapists certified in marriage and family counseling, intervention specialists, and life coaches. The facility is directed by two therapists with Master’s in Clinical Psychology and Educational Psychology.
