Located in Santa Maria, Calif., Good Samaritan Shelter is a non-profit organization that provides a variety of services to individuals who are homeless and in recovery. The Good Samaritan Shelter Acute Care offers social model residential detox and aftercare.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

According to Good Samaritan Shelter’s website, Recovery Point Acute Care is an inpatient drug and alcohol social model detox program. Treatment typically lasts between seven and 14 days. The program aims to provide a safe and secure residential environment for individuals experiencing withdrawal symptoms.

Social Model Detox means it is a detox program where residents do not receive detox medication to aid in the process.

The program includes private counseling sessions, 12-step sessions, aftercare, and free relapse treatment. The facility is staffed 24 hours a day. Clients are expected to initiate sobriety and establish a clean and sober foundation independently.

Good Samaritan’s Recovery Point, located in Santa Maria, also offers outpatient programs for individuals struggling with addiction. The facility can accommodate up to 80 adults at a time and is able to assist those with co-occurring disorders.
