ABOUT RECOVERY MANAGEMENT SERVICES, INC. IN CONCORD, CA

Recovery Management Services, Inc. (RMS), located in Concord, Calif., offers residential, outpatient, and sober living treatment to adults struggling with substance abuse and chemical dependency. RMS is a non-profit organization that also uses the name Crossroads Program Services.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

The facility’s treatment philosophy is based on the 12-steps. To be admitted, clients must contact the facility directly by phone or email to schedule an assessment. Most clients remain in treatment between 30 and 90 days.

Recovery Management Services provides five different treatment programs, and clients often progress between programs as they recover. The Crossroads Full-Treatment Center offers intensive residential treatment for individuals who are just beginning their recovery. The Working Person’s Program and Continuing Care Program allow clients to return to full time work while maintaining residence at an RMS facility and continuing to receive treatment. The Outpatient Program is intended for clients who do not need residential support but would like to continue counseling and treatment. Finally, RMS offers Clean and Sober Residences for clients who would like to continue living in a sober environment after completing treatment.

Throughout each program, clients have access to individual, group, and family counseling as well as educational programs, relapse prevention training, and a regular physical fitness regimen. Aftercare is available for all clients who successfully complete the program. Recovery Management Services invites alumni to return to support meetings and events occurring a minimum of three times a week. Weekly alumni meetings include Advanced Relapse Prevention, a 12- Step Meeting, and a Communication Skills Workshop. The facility also hosts a monthly alumni association meeting as well as guest speaker events.

REVIEWS

At the time of this writing there has been one friend or family member of a client polled by Best-rehabs.com. The reviewer gave the facility good ratings in some categories, but said she would not recommend it to others. The anonymous loved one gave the facility four out of five stars for treatment effectiveness, four stars for accommodations and amenities, and four stars for meals and nutrition. She disagreed that there are many counseling options to choose from, strongly disagreed that the facility is adequately equipped and staffed to treat co-occurring mental health problems, and said she felt facility staff were not experienced nor well-trained.

When asked about strengths of Recovery Management Services, she mentioned that the days are structured and well-organized, long term stays are encouraged by staff, and clients are kept busy. When asked about facility weaknesses, she mentioned that there was no holistic or exercise program, no physician, no experienced dual diagnosis counselors, and that she felt the program cost was too high. She also added additional commentary, saying, “For single diagnosis patients who are serious and have money, this be a way to get back on track but the facility is limited in resources and if a person requires medication, physician care etc… this is not the place to go.”
