Axis Residential Treatment

Axis Residential Treatment Indian Wells California

Axis Residential is a full-service alcohol and drug treatment center with three locations in California. The Axis East facility in Indian Wells is the longest running (and most luxurious) option for residential treatment. The rehab focuses on helping each client re-envision life’s possibilities and truly embrace the value of sobriety. By introducing daily activities and techniques that, with time, will become life-saving routines, Axis provides its clients with the framework necessary to build a solid foundation for long-lasting recovery.

ABOUT AXIS RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT

Axis Recovery provides highly individualized, upscale residential treatment for adults dealing with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. Axis Recovery operates three centers in Southern California: Axis East in Indian Wells, Axis West in Culver City, and Axis Pacific View Recovery Center in Santa Monica. The Axis East facility is considered to be the “most luxurious option” in the Axis Recovery network. Medically-monitored detox is also available on site.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Axis bases its care on behavior modification, positive motivation, and collaboration between the client and his or her treatment team. Treatment combines** evidence-based modalities,12-step principles, and holistic activities**. The length of treatment varies, but most clients stay for at least 90 days. However, the facility offers 30, 60, 90, and 120 day treatment plans based on each client’s needs.

The treatment process begins with an initial phone interview to prequalify clients for the treatment programs. Clients work with admissions specialists to identify their needs and to ensure that clients will have access to the appropriate resources to facilitate their recovery. Clients schedule a time for an admissions meeting at the facility where they are assessed by a team of medical and psychological personnel. This assessment is used to create an individualized treatment plan with specializations for each client’s unique condition and needs. Counselors help design treatment program with specialized tracts that focus on each client’s most pressing concerns to address problem behaviors.

During individual and group therapy, family counseling, and a variety of workshops, clients and staff utilize cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing (MI). Medical care and medication management are provided when needed.

Physical and recreational therapies are also made available as a part of the treatment process, and specific activities are recommended as a part of a tailored treatment plan. These activities include art therapy, yoga, and physical fitness activities. In a holistic approach, the facility also offers nutrition counseling as well as other therapy options including hypnotherapy and acupuncture.

Aftercare services including sober living support and continued care planning are provided during the treatment process. Clients are encouraged to establish support networks including attending meetings in their local communities. The facility can help clients develop their support network by establishing contact with group leaders and help clients find appropriate options for continued care.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

Axis Recovery’s treatment teams include physician-led medical assistance teams consisting of at least one qualified physician and certified nursing staff members. The counseling team consists of licensed and certified psychologists, marriage therapists, family therapists, and alcohol and drug counselors. Many of the recovery technicians also have battled addiction, and have extensive experience in assisting clients with addressing their addiction concerns.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

Axis East is the most luxurious and longest running of the facilities. Residents live in a spacious, modern house with a limited number of beds, a large backyard, and outdoor pool. Most bedrooms are shared, but a few private suites are available. Additionally, residents benefit from a full-time chef, who ensures everyone can enjoy nutritious, freshly cooked meals.

It is co-ed and the games were all missing parts. The basketball was flat and there was not even a pump to fill it back up.”

WHAT STAFF SAY

  • It was hands down the most amazing experience I have ever had. That place saved my life and they did it with the best staff. I actually went to Axis West this past December and was there till the new year...I have a little over six months of sobriety, I plan on going back to school to continue the rest of the classes I need to get my bachelors...I live in an amazing sober living, I have mended so many of the relationships I thought I had destroyed through my addiction, I can actually pay my bills on time, and for the first time in my entire life I can honestly and truly say that I am happy...I want to give back what was so freely given to me by the staff of AW that helped give me the strength to achieve this beautiful life I have now... I would love to show someone else that (sobriety) does work and that I was once in their spot and through hard work and willingness to do what I had to do to stay sober, that I have been given this amazing, beautiful, and free life I get to wake up to and live in every morning...I regained confidence within myself, the hope to live a different life, and self-forgiveness for all the things I had done in my addiction....truly saved my life because without her at the beginning, I highly doubt I could have made it.

  • I can't say one bad thing about Axis Residential. I am sober today because of them. The facility was great, the counselors were great, the food was ... great. I didn't want to leave when my time was up, actually. I've been sober 2 1/2 years now. Maintaining sobriety every day is a choice but I wouldn't be sober today without them, I'm sure of it. Having not gone there, I would be either homeless or dead! I am sober today because of this place - I would not trade my stay there for anything but I have to wonder what costs $1000/day. That seems a bit excessive! I was desperate, I looked on line for a place away from home (I thought it was best to get out of Phoenix, just away, for treatment) and when I talked to them on the phone they gave me hope, it felt good, and they could get me in right away!I can't say one bad thing about Axis Residential. The successful rehabs and sober livings are not vacation style resorts. Changing is difficult and requires discipline. Most rehabs get people sober but most people don't stay sober afterwards. It's become more expensive, less disciplined and less confrontational. Unlike most rehabs/sober livings, Axis sober living forced discipline onto people to make them change.

  • I work at Axis. And while the objective is to help the clients, The manager here in Indian Wells only seems to care about the company...The primary atmosphere between staff is aggressive. They seem to be looking out for their own positions and out truly makes it a difficult place to work with. There is two exceptions to this and they are one male and one female staff member. The woman brightens an otherwise gloomy job. The guy has a genuine concern for the success of the clients. It seems there is more politics here then Washington DC.

  • What a relaxing and peaceful experience. The staff was very considerate and compassionate. The chef was talented and creative for all food types and allergies and the treatment program was professional and clinical with real tools to use when I got home and into my own home based 12 step program. I recommend it to those in need of comfort and support, compassion and recovery.

  • At first I thought I was too young to get sober. Axis showed me that I could still have fun in sobriety, and gave me the tools I needed to live a successful life. At only age 21, I am now sober, mentally stable, and financially independent. I am very grateful for the Axis program & all of the staff for the life I have today.

  • The staff was very nice and professional. The center was more like a spa than addiction center that offered detox programs. It was not a bad place, just not what she needed.

  • My son went here. When he first arrived we were duped into thinking this was an upscale, luxurious homelike setting with a beautiful pool and garden where he could recover and feel happy. Little did we know this is just where he would go through detox for 7 days... most of it spent sleeping and then he would be transferred to the residential treatment home which was run down, and looked nothing like this facility at all.It is co-ed and the games were all missing parts. The basketball was flat and there was not even a pump to fill it back up. My son was dying of heat as it was the middle of summer and there was nothing for him to do to keep his mind occupied. They went daily off-site to a AA meetings and then back to the house. They also were also allowed to use their cell phones for a few hours every day...that made it hard for my son since as an addict, he would contact his friends that were using and hear all about the parties they were going to and chicks they were hooking up with and that only increased his desire to want to leave and do the same. Needless to say he got out and relapsed almost immediately as sober living is not covered by insurance and was too expensive for us. I was extremely disappointed!

  • It was a very nice place. Everyone knew what they were doing, they were caring and there was always someone there if you needed them. I was on more drugs in that place then I was on the outside. It was also really expensive. If you want to get clean and you have 15,000$ to spend then I recommend this place. However, if you don't want to get clean but you want to spend that kind of money on the Dr giving you a bunch of good drugs then I also recommend this place.

  • Love, caring, safe, understanding staff. It saved my life, I was almost dead, now I know how to live clean and sober. Since 7.3.08. I knew absolutely nothing about sobriety. To this day I remain teachable. And that the world doesn't revolve around me. And taught me how to help others.
