ABOUT GOOD SAMARITAN SHELTER PROJECT P.R.E.M.I.E.

A program of the Good Samaritan Shelter in Santa Monica, Calif., Project P.R.E.M.I.E. (Perinatal Recovery Effort through Maternal Intervention and Education) is a day treatment program for perinatal women and their children. The program aims to deliver drug-free, healthy babies and heal women and children who have been affected by substance abuse.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

At its core, the day program at Project P.R.E.M.I.E. educates women who are recovering from substance abuse. As such, programming fosters positive parenting techniques and addresses common “Recovery issues” like anger management, self-esteem, as well as matters of family and domestic violence. Treatment is also designed for women with dual diagnoses.

When day treatment simply isn’t enough, women may enroll at Good Samaritan’s Transitional Center for a more immersive, residential treatment experience. Here, though, women accepted into the program are held to a minimum commitment of six months and may reside for no longer than 18 months.
