ABOUT RESTORATION RANCH
Located in the foothills of California’s San Diego County, Restoration Ranch provides faith-based, residential treatment for adult men who are struggling with addiction, including those who have recently been released from prison. In addition to its standard residential program, the nonprofit organization offers a more intensive program that incorporates counseling and evaluation services led by a licensed counselor.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
According to its website, Restoration Ranch’s signature program includes mentorship and counseling based on 12-step principles, as well as training that addresses job preparedness, life skills, and social skills. Clients are expected to participate in regular Bible study, and staff are available to help residents with fulfilling court orders and accessing additional services, including medical and mental health care. Most clients remain in the program for at least one month.
For an additional monthly fee, clients may enroll in a more intensive treatment program that includes the standard program’s services, plus additional evaluations and therapy, family counseling, personal coaching, and developmental workshops with a licensed counselor.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
According to Restoration Ranch’s website, the center’s executive director is a licensed pastor, and counseling services are overseen by a Ph.D.-level, licensed therapist.
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
While in treatment, clients live and work on the center’s ranch, which can accommodate up to 18 individuals at a time. According to the center’s online photo gallery, the grounds feature gardens, outdoor seating areas, and a swimming pool. Recreational activities include volleyball, basketball, and horse shoes. The center also runs a regular “surf ministry,” which combines faith-based recovery practices with surfing.
