ABOUT DENVER DRUG TREATMENT CENTERS
Serving Colorado and beyond, Denver Drug Treatment Centers offers upscale, specialized inpatient and intensive outpatient (IOP) programs dedicated to treating chemical dependency and co-occurring disorders, making it one of the 201 (50.4 percent) facilities in the state to specialize in this area. To help clients achieve and maintain sobriety, Denver Drug Treatment Centers combines evidence-based practices and 12-step programming with alternative and holistic treatment methods. Where necessary, medically supervised detoxification services, which are only available at 17 (4.3 percent) Colorado facilities, are also available on-site here.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
To form a personalized treatment program and determine an appropriate level of care, clients may first undergo an initial substance abuse assessment. If medical detoxification is required, the center provides monitoring and medication-assisted therapies (MAT) – such as methadone for opioid dependency and Diazepam for methamphetamine addiction – to minimize withdrawal symptoms and help curb cravings. In Colorado in 2016, the number of individuals ages 18 or older who used heroin was .35 percent. Clients in need of a more supportive, supervised living environment to facilitate early recovery may be referred to the inpatient program.
Treatment programming blends evidence-based treatment methods, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing (MI), with the 12-Steps. Clients keep to a structured schedule of individual and group counseling sessions, while families may attend counseling sessions and recovery education. Aside from these traditional treatment methods, clients have access to a range of holistic offerings including auricular (ear) acupuncture, equine therapy, chiropractic care, therapeutic massages, yoga, and art therapy.
For those keeping the faith, the center runs a Christian-based program track. Dual diagnosis treatment involves stress reduction strategies and medication management. Available as either a stand-alone program or a “step-down” option from inpatient treatment, IOP sessions focus particularly on relapse prevention and recovery maintenance.

Denver Drug Treatment Centers employs a medical staff to oversee detoxification and a team of specialized clinicians, such as licensed professional counselors, to facilitate the evidence-based treatment program.
