InnerBalance Health Center

InnerBalance Health Center

Founded in 1998 and located on a quiet street in northern Colorado, 10 miles from Rocky Mountain National Park, InnerBalance Health Center is a luxury treatment center offering residential care, aftercare options, and intensive outpatient (IOP) services for individuals struggling with substance abuse. Residential stays generally last 28 days and focus on the Biochemical Restoration, nutrition, and counseling models of treatment.

InnerBalance’s program is built on the belief that successful addiction treatments must address the cognitive aspect alongside the biochemical aspects of addiction. In short, traditional talk therapies cannot treat addiction successfully alone. As such, the center offers a 28-day, determinedly holistic program that’s designed to address these root causes, as well as providing talk therapy and emotional support. The center tackles the effects of addiction on the client’s mind, body, spirit, and environment.

The most traditional elements of the InnerBalance program are behavioral counseling and spiritual counseling. However, the center also offers a range of biochemistry-based treatment methods including nutrition therapy and Biochemical Restoration. These include extensive lab tests, which are used to develop healthy nutrition and exercise systems using reiki, yoga, microcurrent stimulation, infrared saunas, and life coaching.

For clients that are not able to stay in the facility, intensive outpatient (IOP) services are available. Patients will receive all the same services with the exception of the residential accommodations. InnerBalance also helps clients to establish and maintain support systems. The facility offers up to 11 months of counseling and aftercare resources to help clients maintain better living habits. Families can receive education and support via a three-day family program, offered once per month. Clients are encouraged to participate in 12-step groups and other support systems, such as Life Ring, as tools for long-term sobriety.

InnerBalance staffs a range of medical professionals including clinical doctors and nursing staff, as well as a team of psychologists and nutritionists. There are also various support personnel that provide physical education and conditioning services as well as maintain the facility. The single alum polled by to date on the staff’s level of training and experience gave it four out of five stars.

The cost of the program includes membership at a local health club with a pool, a jacuzzi, and exercise machines, plus personal training sessions for those clients who want them. Being close to the Rocky Mountains, the center also has access to year-round recreational activities such as skiing, hiking, biking, bird watching, boating, climbing, rafting, and kayaking.

The residential facility is a large family-style home with a garden and private or shared bedrooms, decorated in a cozy, rustic style. The two individuals polled by to date gave the center a four-star rating and a five-star rating for both its accommodations and its cleanliness.
