About Caron Renaissance — Boca Raton
Caron operates four residential rehab centers in Philadelphia and Florida as well as regional and outpatient centers up and down the east coast. Caron Renaissance, located in Boca Raton, Fla., offers medical detox and long-term residential treatment for young adults and adults struggling with substance abuse, process addictions such as gambling and eating disorders, and co-occurring disorders. It uses the Florida model, which separates living quarters from the treatment center.
Treatment & Assessment
According to the center’s website, the length of stay varies according to the client’s needs. Caron describes its programs as family-focused and holistic. The residential program is multidisciplinary, drawing from psychology, addiction counseling, medicine, nutrition, health and wellness, and spirituality. It also uses the 12-Steps and neurofeedback.
Programs are gender-specific. For men, there’s a focus on learning to avoid compartmentalizing feelings, processing anger, and effective coping skills. The women’s program addresses problems such as sexual trauma, eating disorders, body image issues, and shame and guilt.
During a two-week “family restructuring” program, families live with their loved ones at the facility and attend group programs with them. The “College Bound” program allows residents to begin or continue college studies, or set and achieve other academic goals.
A variety of continuing care services are offered, including individual counseling, aftercare groups, alumni recharge weekends, and a buddy program.

What Friends & Family Say

Still, several loved ones raised safety concerns about clients being released before they were ready either for violating the rules or because they could no longer pay. Numerous reviewers also echoed alumni by complaining about the facility’s treatment methods. “Very confrontational, demeaning, disrespectful of the client and family,” Brenn wrote.
