ABOUT MEDICAL CENTER OF TRINITY – BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CENTER

The Behavioral Health Center at Medical Center of Trinity, located in New Port Richey, Florida, provides treatment for individuals with mental health conditions, such as anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and addiction. The center offers inpatient care, a partial hospitalization program (PHP), and an intensive outpatient program (IOP). Please note that detox is not available on-site.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

The center prioritizes evidence-based treatments, such as dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), to help clients regulate emotions, recognize personal needs, develop mindfulness, and improve pain tolerance. Each day, clients receive individual counseling sessions with a board-certified psychiatrist, participate in group therapy led by an experienced therapist, and attend various educational, medication, and process groups. Recreational activities, including music, art, basketball, and outdoor activities, are also provided. In some cases, electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) may be used for patients with severe psychiatric illnesses who are unresponsive to medication.

Clients in the partial hospitalization program (PHP) engage in four groups per day to effectively understand and manage their symptoms. They receive monitoring and treatment from a psychiatrist and licensed therapist.

Clients in the intensive outpatient program (IOP) attend sessions three days per week, three hours each day. Their group therapy focuses on coping and assertiveness skills, and they also receive treatment from a psychiatrist.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

The Behavioral Health Center is staffed by a team of board-certified psychiatrists, registered nurses, licensed clinical social workers, licensed mental health counselors, case managers, and activities and recreational therapists.

Both agreed that family and loved ones were able to participate in treatment through family programming. However, one felt that the facility offered adequate counseling options and that the program was worth the cost, while the other disagreed on both points. Both loved ones highlighted the facility’s newness and convenient location as strengths. However, neither of them would recommend treatment at the facility.

They did not believe I took the pills because I passed a drug test. Nothing showed up and I take medication prescription. Because they did not believe me I feel I was not properly treated.
