Pasadena Villa Psychiatric Residential Treatment Centers are dedicated to delivering compassionate, comprehensive, and the highest quality individualized psychiatric and psychotherapeutic care for adults who suffer from severe and persistent mental illness while maximizing social functioning in the real world.
ABOUT PASADENA VILLA – VILLA ORLANDO
Pasadena Villa operates two luxury residential treatment facilities: a lodge on the border of Tennessee’s Great Smoky Mountain National Park, and the facility in Orlando: The Villa Orlando, a residential facility for men and women in a residential neighborhood slightly north of central Orlando. Outpatient services are also available on-site.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Villa Orlando’s treatment is founded on a “Social Integration Methodology,” under which clients are involved in a community — attending therapy; volunteering; enjoying social, recreational, and cultural activities; and participating in school and jobs — as part of their recovery and their road back to community life after treatment. The 12-Steps are used in an innovative 12-Steps through Art program.
Otherwise, most treatment is carried out in a group setting, with groups focusing on areas such as dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), family dynamics, relapse prevention, codependency, health and wellness, and life skills. In addition, the center offers both psychiatric sessions and psychotherapy in individual settings.
The length of stay depends on the individual client’s needs, but the average length of stay is three to four months in residential care, followed by six to nine months in lower-level care, for example the center’s partial hospitalization program (PHP), which can be accessed as either entry-level or step-down care, with optional supported housing off-site.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
The team includes psychiatrists, master’s-level therapists, psychotherapists, an art therapist, recreational therapist, nurses, and social workers. The single alum polled by Best-rehabs.com to date rated Villa Orlando two out of five stars for its staff’s level of training and experience.
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
During residential treatment, clients can either stay on-site or in gender-specific homes in the community. The main campus offers 14 beds in a 24/7-monitored family-style home with a full kitchen, communal areas, and a piano. The community homes have less supervision, though support is still available to residents 24/7. Amenities include bowling, dinner outings, movie viewings, outdoor activities, and more.
WHAT ALUMNI SAY
The singe alum polled by Best-rehabs.com to date gave negative feedback, rating Villa Orlando two out of five stars in most of the evaluated treatment metrics, including its treatment effectiveness, holistic offerings, family participation, counseling options, and treatment for co-occurring disorders. The alum’s solitary praise was for the facility’s “good food,” but wrote that “everything else” was a weakness. The alum concluded their review by writing, “It was a joke and a scam.”
WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY
At the time of this writing, secondary review sites yielded mostly positive feedback, with a few notes of stark complaint, and most of this feedback was left by clients’ loved ones. To date, 16 Google reviewers rated Villa Orlando an average 4.2 out of five stars, with three negative reviews and 13 positive.[1] The two positive comments among these reviews praised the center’s staff and environment: “We felt very secure with the staff and team taking care of our daughter… I felt that the staff and treatment team were open and honest with my husband and I and this was comforting given the situation,” loved one J.M. wrote in a representative review on Google.
However, one positive reviewer and several negative reviewers cited billing problems, often combined with a feeling that the facility did not offer a sufficient level of care for its price tag. “This place is an expensive joke. Nothing more than a daycare center with some mental health treatment,” J.C. wrote in a representative review to Google, and in an otherwise positive review, T.K. wrote to Google: “Our experience did have one area of negativity in that Pasadena Villa utilized a 3rd party to interface with insurance companies. My experience with that outside organization was atrocious in that that they were unprofessional, untruthful, and non communicative.”
On Pasadena Villa’s Facebook page, which may be curated, 15 reviewers rated the organization an average 3.9 out of five stars, with three negative and 12 positive reviews.[2] The few reviewers who left commentary were overwhelmingly negative, accusing the facility of frugal business practices and providing inadequate treatment.
FINANCING
Pasadena Villa is not in-network with any insurers, and does not accept Medicaid or Medicare, but it does work with several insurers on an out-of-network basis.
