ABOUT ASSISTED RECOVERY CENTER OF GA INC

Established in 1999 and located within the cultural hub of Savanna, Ga., the Assisted Recovery Center of GA Inc. (ARC) offers inpatient and outpatient (OP) programs for adult clients seeking recovery from issues with substance use. Medically assisted detoxification services are available.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Clients first take a bio-psycho-social assessment to identify underlying issues fueling their use of substances and treat said issues. Clients must take blood tests prior to assessment. Detoxification is supervised by physicians and involves either Naltrexone or Suboxone to reduce dependency. Detoxification may take place at an apartment or a hotel room per the client’s preference and desire for anonymity.

Eschewing traditional 12-step treatment, ARC’s treatment philosophy is based on the disease model of addiction and relies primarily on evidence-based, medication-assisted treatment modalities to help clients recover. Treatment is individualized and involves one-on-one counseling, pharmacotherapy, with an emphasis on privacy.

Clients may enroll in outpatient treatment, meeting at least twice a week for 15 hours of group therapy and 10 hours of either individual or family therapy per week, with treatment utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and cognitive restructuring. The intensive outpatient (IOP) program works on the same model but doubles the amount of individual/family therapy, while day treatment tasks clients with meeting three hours per day for treatment. Specialized tracks for executives and professionals are available.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

Clients are monitored 24/7 by caregivers, with an attendant nurse visiting clients three times per day. The interdisciplinary staff includes licensed therapists, physicians, and nurse practitioners.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

Clients stay in apartment or hotel lodgings with comfortably furnished bedrooms, dining rooms, lounge areas, and patios. During treatment, clients may explore Savannah’s cultural offerings. Amenities include access to a pool, gym room, and concierge services.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

Review coverage of ARC is limited. While Best-rehabs.com currently has no reviews from alumni of ARC, two Google reviewers to date both rated the facility a perfect five stars.[1] Reviewer Brad wrote: “Assisted Recovery Center of Georgia has the best inpatient and outpatient programs available. They use the latest and most effective tools that medical science has to offer in treating addiction to alcohol or opiate drugs, and they’re totally confidential, with a private, painless detox and one-on-one counseling.”

WHAT STAFF SAY

A former medical director of ARC, the only staff member polled by Best-rehabs.com to date, rated the facility a perfect five stars for treatment effectiveness and three stars for its accommodations and amenities. Though the anonymous director noted there was no actual inpatient facility, they praised the program for “Combining proven effective meds with through medical/social eval, cognitive behavioral therapy, and some group meetings with peer input. staff avail 24/7.”

FINANCING

ARC accepts private insurance policies, although clients must pre-certify with their insurance companies before entering treatment to receive any available coverage. Though clients are encouraged to prepay via cash, check, or card (with discounts for these options), clients may also pay a 50% down payment and pay the rest over a two-year plan or apply for financial loaning through M-LEND. Fees include screening assessments and detox medications.
