ABOUT MCKINLEY HEALTH CENTER
SIHF Healthcare- Behavioral Health (McKinley Health Center), located in Granite City, Ill., offers behavioral health treatments, general health care, and dental treatment to individuals who have substance abuse, behavioral health, and mental health concerns.
McKinley Health Center is one of the 28 community healthcare facilities operated by the Southern Illinois Healthcare Foundation (SIHF). The SIHF is a federally qualified health center network, which was founded in 1985 to support low-income individuals needing affordable healthcare in the region. The network began offering psychiatric and behavioral health care in 2004 and McKinley Health Center opened in 2013.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

The facility’s behavioral health specialists work with patients to create an individualized, custom treatment program. The facility specializes in helping individuals of all ages, including teens and children.
The facility handles a host of mental health conditions, including: Self-esteem issues, depression, chemical dependency, sexually problematic behaviors, anger issues, anxiety and panic disorders, and ADHD.

At the time of this writing, there was one anonymous former staff member polled by Best-rehabs.com. This reviewer gave the facility good marks across several different metrics. The staff member gave the facility four out of five stars for treatment effectiveness, four stars for accommodations & amenities, and did not comment on meals & nutrition.
She agreed that there are many counseling options to choose from, agreed that the facility is adequately equipped and staffed to treat co-occurring mental health problems, and agreed that facility staff are experienced and well-trained. She felt that a strength of the facility was that counselors are attentive and helpful at making clients feel comfortable. She mentioned that a weakness of the facility is that it’s constantly busy. She also added that counselors “take time with patients and are very caring.”

According to its website, the facility accepts more than a dozen insurance coverage plans, Medicaid, and Medicare. Financial assistance is available to qualifying patients via a sliding fee scale.
