ABOUT HAMILTON CENTER, INC. – BLOOMFIELD

Established in 1971, Hamilton Center, Inc. is a regional behavioral health organization serving children, adolescents, adults, and families in Indiana’s Wabash Valley. This facility in Bloomfield is one of the organization’s 11 community mental health centers. Hamilton Centers cater to diverse clientele, providing outpatient treatment addressing substance use and mental health disorders, with specialized supportive programs for veterans and LGBTQ individuals. Short-term inpatient stabilization services for addiction and mental illness are available at the Terre Haute facility, and additional outpatient programming is available at the Plainfield center.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

According to the Hamilton Center website, treatment for substance use and other mental health disorders builds on individual clients’ needs and strengths, which are identified in the assessment process.

Intensive outpatient programming (IOP) involves individual and group therapy along with educational sessions and case management services. The Hamilton treatment approach emphasizes support for each client’s self-esteem and dignity. Small groups are capped at 15 participants, and participation in 12-step meetings or other self-help groups is also required. This mix of therapeutic practices follows the Matrix Model. IOP clients meet six hours a week for 16 weeks and submit to regular on-site drug screenings.

Specialized dual diagnosis treatment is offered, as well as trauma-oriented Seeking Safety programming. Treatment is available to children and adolescents struggling with substance use disorders.

The agency is also a Recovery Works provider, coordinating with the Indiana state government to support individuals involved in the criminal justice system.

STAFF CREDENTIALS
