ABOUT CENTRAL KANSAS FOUNDATION- SALINA, KS
Founded in 1967 and formerly called Central Kansas Foundation, CKS Addiction Treatment operates four locations with the Salina location being the first and main campus. The Salina location also offers a full range of treatment services to adults struggling with substance abuse. It is one of the 28 (13.9 percent) of Kansas treatment centers that offers residential care. Outpatient and detox services is also available.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
According to Central Kansas Foundation’s website, it offers assessment and referral services to determine what treatment option is best for each client. The licensed addiction counselors help clients to identify what is causing their problems and refer them on for the appropriate services.
The first step of treatment may be detox, and the treatment center offers both social detox and medication-assisted treatment. Residential services at CKF include a 20-bed facility that is staffed at all times. During treatment, clients participate in scheduled activities along with individual and group counseling sessions.
Individuals participating in the Partial Day Treatment program also have the option to stay over at the residential facility for additional support during the program.
CKF follows the 12-step recovery process and utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and the Readiness for Change Model. Each individual receives an individualized treatment program based on their unique needs. Outpatient programming may include individual counseling, group treatment consisting of three hour sessions a couple times a week, family therapy, and aftercare.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
The treatment team includes counselors, and the one alum polled by Best-rehabs.com to date gave one out of five stars for the staff’s level of experience.
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
There is currently no information provided by the facility regarding its living arrangements and related offerings. However, one alum who was polled by Best-rehabs.com gave the facility two out of five stars for accommodations & amenities.
WHAT ALUMNI SAY
The one alum surveyed by Best-rehabs.com at the time of this writing provided negative feedback, and indicated they wouldn’t recommend Central Kansas Foundation. While they gave three out of five stars for treatment effectiveness, they gave one star for most metrics including holistic offerings, connectivity, counseling options, and treatment of co-occurring disorders.
“Building is well maintained/clean. Strongly suggest counselors be more closely screened prior to hiring and if outside aids(such as aa/na) are used, begin at step 1! Not 4,7,9….STEP 1,” the alum wrote.
The two people to leave Google Reviews for the treatment center to date gave five- and one- out of five stars. Only the individual who left a negative review provided commentary. “If you need help with addiction or alcohol, look for a 12 step program…CKF is a joke, that why most of everyone is court order to go,” they wrote on Google.
To date, the 14 people to leave reviews on its Facebook page, which it has the ability to manage, gave an average of 4.1 out of five stars. All but one individual provided positive commentary. They praised the staff and treatment effectiveness. “The people there care about recovery,” Stephanie wrote in a representative review. “They want to help people see that its not only possible, but its an amazing way to live life. Freedom!!!”
WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY
The one family member polled by Best-rehabs.com at the time of this writing provided a somewhat positive review, and four out of five stars when asked if they would recommend Central Kansas Foundation. They gave three stars for family participation, and two stars for connectivity.
FINANCING
According to CKF Addiction Treatment, it accepts insurance, and it is one of the 134 (67 percent) of Kansas treatment facilities that offers a sliding scale for cost. It also has state funding available for clients whose income is 200 percent of the national poverty level or below.
