ABOUT POWELL RECOVERY CENTER
As one of the largest treatment facilities in Baltimore, Powell Recovery Center provides outpatient treatment to individuals dealing with substance abuse or other co-occurring conditions. Medical detoxification is offered on-site, as is an intensive outpatient program (IOP), standard outpatient treatment, and partial hospitalization program (PHP). The center also provides sober living.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Powell Recovery Center provides addiction treatment and crisis housing for up to six months. Treatment begins with an initial substance abuse evaluation and mental health assessment.
The center blends evidence-based treatment approaches with counseling sessions. Clients will participate in gender-specific group therapy sessions that focus on topics dealing with substance abuse and mental health concerns. Medication management and evaluation is offered at the facility.
Medication-assisted treatment in the form of Suboxone is available as needed.
Those residing in sober-living facilities located throughout Baltimore must be involved in treatment and may stay up to six months.

On Facebook, Powell Recovery Center earned 4.3 stars based on 54 ratings. Christopher, one of thirty-six five-star reviewers, wrote: “I think powell is a great place for being dual diagnosed. .has some of the top faciltators and staff..”

The sole loved one responding to a Best-rehabs.com poll to date gave near-perfect ratings to all 15 evaluated categories. The anonymous reviewer gave the facility four out of five stars for its treatment effectiveness, the staff’s level of experience, its counseling options and ability to treat co-occurring disorders, and level of family participation. “People cared there,” they commented, adding that Powell assists clients following treatment.
WHAT STAFF SAY
Though no current or former staff members have been polled to date, Powell earned four out of five stars from eight individuals on Indeed. Several reviewers cited co-workers as a strength, though two individuals noted that the facility was short staffed. A representative reviewer commented: “The job was rewarding, educational, and a family oriented work place. I loved every moment working there.”
