ABOUT BALDPATE HOSPITAL
Located on 80 wooded acres in Georgetown, Mass., about 30 miles north of Boston, Baldpate Hospital is a Joint Commission approved facility that offers detoxification services, treatment for co-occurring disorders, and Suboxone for opiate addiction.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Clients in need of detoxification receive supervised medical care. According to the hospital’s website, nearly all detox programs provide medications to alleviate withdrawal symptoms. The hospital makes use of benzodiazepines to treat alcoholism and Suboxone to treat opiate addiction.
In addition to detox services, Baldpate Hospital treats major mental illnesses like depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, and obsessive-compulsive disorders. Treatment plans are individualized to suit each client’s specific needs.
Towards the end of treatment, trained social workers confer with each client to develop an effective aftercare plan.
The treatment team includes physicians, nurses, and social workers.
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
Housed in a renovated inn from the 1700s, Baldpate Hospital offers a quaint environment for recovery, complete with a community room and garden area. Located down the road from Baldpate Pond State Park, the hospital offers scenic views of the surrounding forest.

WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY
One Best-rehabs.com survey respondent expressed frustration over the short-term treatment model their loved one took part in as well as with the overall state of mental health care. “It was a great facility for duel diagnosis, however like a lot of the same type of facilities in the area your health insurance or lack of takes priority over the amount of treatment, (or length of stay) the patient receives,” R.P. explained to Best-rehabs.com.
According to its website, Baldpate accepts all major insurance providers.
