Our mission is to assist individuals suffering from drug and alcohol addiction in developing a new way of life, repairing past damage, and maintaining their recovery on a daily basis.
Our treatment approach is proven and tailored to each client’s unique background and needs. Unlike other facilities, we believe that successful treatment must address the underlying spiritual, emotional, and psychological causes of addiction, rather than simply focusing on abstinence.
To achieve this, we take a comprehensive and integrated approach to addiction by offering personalized treatments that simultaneously address the mind, body, and spirit.
ABOUT RECOVERING CHAMPIONS
Based in East Falmouth, Massachusetts, Recovering Champions operates two rehabilitation facilities for adults with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. Awakenings Lodge, a retreat-style residence, and Cape Cod Behavioral Health, an intensive outpatient treatment center, are both designed to support holistic recovery based on 12-step concepts. While on-site detox is not available, we work closely with local detox facilities to ensure clients receive appropriate treatment before entering Recovering Champions. The recovery program was established in 2015, according to the Cape Cod Times.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Our holistic approach to treatment includes outdoor activities such as equine therapy, as well as evidence-based cognitive and behavioral therapies, experiential therapies like art and music, and wellness practices such as yoga and meditation. Clients also receive individual counseling, group and family therapy, educational workshops, and participate in 12-step meetings.
Our highly structured partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs meet for three-and-a-half to six hours each day. Clients who transition from the intensive outpatient program to the outpatient program continue working with the same case managers and counselors. The outpatient program does not exceed eight hours per week.
We also offer medication-assisted therapy, less intensive outpatient treatment, and family counseling. Additionally, drug testing may be included in individual treatment plans.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
Our staff consists of master’s-level therapists and social workers, licensed alcohol and drug counselors, and case managers.
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
Our 50-bed residential accommodations in Sandwich, Massachusetts, are referred to as a spiritual retreat center or wellness lodge, rather than a treatment facility. The lodge provides a warm and serene environment with comfortable and modern furnishings. Amenities include a basketball court and vegetable and flower gardens. Clients are allowed daily phone calls and designated smoking areas.
