A part of the Meridian Behavioral Health Network, Douglas Place is one of the 124 (40.3 percent) residential substance abuse treatment centers in Minnesota. Located in East Grand Forks, close to I-29 and about 20 minutes from the University of Minnesota, treatment is available for adult men and women. Clients with co-occurring mental health disorders can also be treated here, a program that only 42.4 percent of treatment facilities in Minnesota offer.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
All clients receive a chemical health assessment upon admission to determine the proper course of care. Treatment at Douglas Place takes a holistic view of recovery and is designed to treat the whole person. The approach combines 12-step principles with evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and relapse prevention.
The program also involves psychiatric and psychological services, living and coping skills education, and anger management groups.
