ABOUT HARRIS HOUSE
Located in St. Louis, Missouri, Harris House is dedicated to providing treatment for adults struggling with substance use and co-occurring disorders. With a history of over 50 years, the facility offers a range of programs including inpatient care, a partial hospitalization program (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), and transitional housing. TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
The intensive inpatient program, which includes detox if needed, is tailored to each individual client. It combines educational and process-oriented treatment to address the complex issues surrounding addiction and its impact on the body. On average, clients stay in the program for 28 days, participating in individual and group sessions every morning, followed by three group sessions in the afternoon and evening.
The PHP or Day Treatment program incorporates evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy. Clients attend programming five days a week for six hours, and are introduced to 12-step principles.
The IOP offers both morning and evening options three days per week. It takes a holistic approach and is designed to last between one and three months. In addition to individual and group therapy, clients are encouraged to participate in family groups and attend support meetings such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA).
The Transitional Housing Program at Harris House offers two levels to meet the needs of different clients. Level 1 provides long-term residential substance use treatment, while Level 2 incorporates outpatient treatment for individuals who have been in the program for three to four months.
