ABOUT CAROLINA COUNSELING SERVICES
Carolina Counseling Services (CCS) is headquartered in a quiet residential area in central Fayetteville, N.C. and operates ten satellite facilities in the nearby towns of Southern Pines, Fuquay-Varina, Sanford, Pittsboro, Pinehurst, and Cameron. Each center offers outpatient counseling services for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors struggling with behavioral and/or mental health health concerns.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
According to CCS’s website, the facility is able to treat and support a range of mental and behavioral disorders, including addiction, grief, PTSD, depression, anxiety, self-harm, anger, chronic impulsiveness, and relationship issues. Treatment is offered in individual, couples, and family settings, and there are dedicated services for members of the military.
The center’s addiction treatment services primarily consist of counseling services designed to ease the transition period for individuals emerging from residential or other higher-intensity rehab. Depending on the facility, counselors are available 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
CCS contracts independent licensed clinical social workers and master’s level counselors. The single alum polled by Best-rehabs.com to date gave the facility three out of five stars for its staff’s level of training and experience.
WHAT ALUMNI SAY
The single alum polled by Best-rehabs.com to date gave mixed but mostly negative feedback, indicating that they would not recommend treatment at CCS. The anonymous alum rated the facility four out of five stars for its counseling options and three stars for its treatment effectiveness, family participation, and treatment for co-occurring disorders. “Good counselors. Don’t seem to personally care about the well being of clients my counselor often forgot about my appointments,” the anonymous reviewer wrote.
Secondary sites yielded one positive review of CSS at the time of this writing. On CiteHealth, one alum rated the satellite location in Salisbury, N.C. a perfect five stars.[1] The anonymous CiteHealth reviewer praised the “very qualified and knowledgeable staff.”
WHAT STAFF SAY
On Indeed to date, three employees rated CCS three, three, and four out of five stars.[2] Two of the employees criticized management. One employee wrote: “The owner is awesome but the management below her is awful. A lot of employees left because of them.”
FINANCING
CCS accepts Medicare, Medicaid, and TriCare, and is in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield and Aetna. For those clients who owe a payment at the time of service, the center accepts cash only. Without insurance, a 45-minute session costs $75, and a 60-minute session costs $100.
