ABOUT DAYMARK RECOVERY SERVICES, INC. GUILFORD COUNTY RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT FACILITY
Daymark Recovery Services, Inc. is a comprehensive community provider of treatment to those struggling with substance abuse and mental health issues, offering a full continuum of treatment.
The only residential Daymark program, the Guilford County Residential Treatment Facility (GCR), located in the community of High Point, N.C. offers free residential treatment to indigent Guilford County residents, men and women 18 and older, struggling with substance abuse. Detox services are not available on-site.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Utilizing a range of evidence-based treatment methods, the Guilford County Residential Treatment Facility’s program lasts for 30 days at minimum, with actual length depending on the patient’s situation and progress in treatment. Clients participate in a full day of scheduled programming, which includes individual, group, and family therapy, and educational sessions on relapse prevention and life skills training. According to feedback gathered by Best-rehabs.com, the program also introduces residents to 12-step philosophies and practices, and clients regularly attend 12-step meetings.
If approved by the resident’s primary therapist, family visitation is offered on Saturdays and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., and families are regularly notified of client progress and any changing needs the client may have. Upon discharge, clinicians develop a comprehensive discharge plan, and alumni are strongly encouraged to enroll in an outpatient-based treatment program to assist in relapse prevention.
Daymark Recovery Services, Inc. is CARF-accredited, and the Guilford County Residential Treatment Facility is licensed by the state of North Carolina. Daymark’s executive staff include medical doctors, a licensed psychologist, a licensed professional counselor, and a licensed clinical social worker with a masters in social work. Staff at Guilford County is on call 24/7 and perform hourly checks on clients at night.
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
Guilford County clients stay in semi-private rooms designed to balance clients’ privacy and needed supervision. The facility also offers a kitchen with three freshly prepared meals per day and snacks.
The single individual polled to date on GCR’s accommodations and amenities rated the facility four out of five stars, and gave five out of five stars for the center’s cleanliness.
WHAT ALUMNI SAY
The one alum, Lisa, polled by Best-rehabs.com to date rated Guilford County’s accommodations and quality of meals four out of five stars. While the alum reported a lack of holistic treatment methods in programming, they appreciated the staff’s level of training and experience and overall treatment effectiveness, both of which received four out of five star ratings. Reporting they would recommend the program to others the alum told Best-rehabs.com: “Group therapy, 12 step meetings were all strengths. It is free to Guilford county residents.”
Reviews on secondary sites are largely negative. Three Google reviewers rated Guilford County an average of 1.3 out of five stars, criticizing the facility for its staff’s courtesy.  On Facebook, eight reviewers gave the facility an average rating of two out of five stars.

On Google reviews, loved one Tom criticized the staff for prioritizing client confidentiality over client-family interaction, writing: “I understand that your business does not depend upon consumer service but empathy and service are principles anyone in any level of service must subscribe to.”

On Glassdoor, 19 former and current employees rated the Daymark Recovery Services network received an average 2.5 out of five stars to date. While three clients wrote that Daymark offered good experience and room for development, two cited poor management and disorganization as flaws and two more simply warned others from joining the organization.
The services and accommodations at Guilford County Residential Treatment Facility are offered for free to clients who qualify. Daymark facilities also accept Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance, and offer a sliding scale of payment.
