ABOUT SANFORD TREATMENT CENTER IN SANFORD, NC
Sanford Treatment Center, located in Sanford, N.C., offers outpatient Methadone and Buprenorphine maintenance treatment to adults struggling with chemical dependency and substance abuse. Sanford Treatment Center is one of seven treatment facilities affiliated with Methadone Treatment Today, a group of private clinics in North Carolina. Sanford is located 50 miles southwest of Raleigh.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Sanford Treatment Center’s program offers medical maintenance using Methadone and Buprenorphine to adults who are addicted to Heroin, OxyContin, Vicodin, Percocet, and Oxycodone. To be admitted, clients do not need an appointment. However, admission days and times vary by location and it is recommended that prospective clients call the treatment facility for specific details before arriving in person. The admissions process includes an intake interview, laboratory testing, an assessment with a counselor, and a physical exam with the facility Medical Director.
In addition to receiving medicine throughout treatment, clients may also receive individual and group therapy, case management, drug education, referrals to community services, urine drug screenings, physicals, lab work, and Hepatitis, Tuberculosis, and pregnancy testing. Families are able to participate in treatment through family education programming and family therapy. Sanford Treatment Center welcomes guest dosing clients and charges them for only daily treatment (not for admission).
STAFF CREDENTIALS
The treatment team at Sanford Treatment Center includes Certified Substance Abuse Counselors, Registered Nurses, and an American Society of Addiction Medicine certified Medical Doctor.

The reviewer gave Sanford Treatment Center excellent ratings and said she would strongly recommend it to others. The anonymous loved one gave the facility four out of five stars for treatment effectiveness, five stars for accommodations and amenities, and four stars for meals and nutrition. She strongly agreed that there are many counseling options to choose from, that the facility is adequately equipped and staffed to treat co-occurring mental health problems, and that facility staff are experienced and well-trained. She felt that a strength of the facility was that staff were patients at one time, and said a weakness of the facility was that treatment is short term.
On the facility’s Google page, there is an overall rating of five out of five stars based on seven total reviews. [1] Alumni praised the staff and several said the facility saved their lives. Alum J.L., who gave five out of five stars, said he was originally hesitant about Methadone treatment, but is glad went to Sanford Treatment Center. He wrote, “I have gone back too school, started a small business, and have the love and respect of my family, things That 2 years ago i thought I would never have.” C.H., another alum, also gave five stars. She wrote, “Very nice staff. I’ve had nothing but good experience.”
FINANCING
The cost of Methadone treatment at Sanford Treatment Center is $11 per day Monday to Saturday and $15 on Sundays. The cost of Buprenorphine treatment is $14.25 per day seven days a week. Admission to the facility costs $60. Clients are encouraged to contact the facility directly for additional information regarding the cost of treatment.
