ABOUT HEALTH RECOVERY SERVICES — BASSETT HOUSE
Health Recovery Services operates 12 outpatient and residential rehab facilities across Ohio. Bassett House is one of these facilities and provides residential treatment for young men ages 13 to 18 who are struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders. The program also offers aftercare planning to ensure a smooth transition after completion of treatment.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Upon admission, each client undergoes a comprehensive evaluation that considers mental health diagnoses, personal strengths, and any potential barriers to treatment. A personalized assessment plan is developed to guide the client’s treatment process. The treatment approach follows a bio-psychosocial model, which includes strengths-based therapy, family-focused counseling, and group counseling. Individual counseling sessions and family counseling are also provided. Psychoeducation courses, relapse prevention training, and recreation therapy are incorporated to promote comprehensive recovery. Participation in 12-step programming is strongly encouraged.
Aftercare planning is an integral part of treatment. Clients and their parents are actively involved in developing a realistic plan that includes referrals to local 12-step groups. Clients are expected to participate in weekly progress reports and case reviews after completing the program. Additionally, Bassett House offers a 14- to 21-day relapse prevention program.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
Bassett House’s treatment team includes a full medical team, which consists of psychologists, counselors, state-certified teachers, OhioMHAS credentialed clinicians, and experienced case managers. Recreation counselors and activity leaders may also be on-site to provide sober living education.
