ABOUT DELTA MEDICAL CENTER

Delta Medical Center, located in Memphis, Tenn., offers residential care, partial hospitalization (PHP), and outpatient care to individuals aged 17 and above seeking treatment for substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. On-site detoxification services are available.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Delta Medical Center begins treatment with a series of medical and psychiatric evaluations to develop an individualized treatment plan. If needed, patients undergo medically monitored detoxification.

Treatment includes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), family sessions, nutritional and wellness counseling, therapeutic and recreational activities, and spiritual guidance. Group therapy is the primary modality of treatment.

In addition to counseling, educational activities are provided to teach patients about addiction and coping skills. These skills form the foundation of aftercare practices for each patient.

Clients engage in recreational and spiritual guidance activities to foster habits development and physical rehabilitation. Spiritual leaders are available to address the spiritual concerns of patients in a treatment-conducive manner. Family involvement is encouraged throughout treatment, with regular access to family members and opportunities for counseling sessions to rebuild family dynamics.

  • The VA transferred my husband to this god awful place and when he entered the facility he walked upright. When he left 3 months later he was stooped over, smelling of urine and looking like a homeless person. His hair was down to his shoulders and he close cropped beard was down below the bottom of his neck. His fingernails and toenails were never trimmed and were disgustingly long. I gave a VA form “Aid & Attendance”. It takes 3-6 months to get approved for this pension to help pay for a nursing home. That form was given on June 29th but was never completed by he doctor and sent to Nashville. Now I have lost 2 months in the approval process. I was told b a staff member theatre was no such form in my husbands file. Evidently she tossed it in the trash. Also they lost my husbands clothing (2 pair of jeans, 2 pullover shirts, underwear and socks and a small blue duffel bag). This place is totally disgusting and should be closed down permently. Everything I have written in this review is thethe absolute truth and acknowledge this statement as fact.

  • I worked here for a period of time recently. They do not know when they have great employees in front of their face. I feel a 90 day probationary period at a hospital like this, should not exist, as they are fast to fire employees without hearing two sides. Good thing the probationary period covered you guys or I would be after this hospital for wrongful termination. I always showed up on time, and wanted to work, even while in school. There was nothing I did wrong. An employee, just didn't like me and they had taken her side, without conducting a proper investigation. I was in management, until I wanted to better myself and go back to school and this is a sad excuse for management. I learned if you have a great, hard working employee, you do not let them go. A majority of the employees, doing checks and vitals seemed completely lazy, if that is who you guys want around the people admitted, then go ahead. Whomever the owner is needs to fix or get rid of the management and some in human resources there. They should be employees, not managers, as the organization skills lack as well. Hopefully, I hear from the owner to get this fixed and rectified, because it was none of my doing for termination. Maybe there is a reason, why you guys have a low star rating. Thanks.

  • Beware, this is not a place that you should go for help. My family member was not treated well. The Dr. Never communicated with us. We were not allowed to see the patients room. Our loved one was filthy dirty and very scared. Please do your homework before using this place. We are so sorry that we didn't research it better.

  • I once was an employee at Delta Medical Center and what I'm about to reveal about this facility is true. This facility management administrative staff is a joke. I also lived in this neighborhood for 20 years, and I never heard anything good about this hospital. The hospital was called the "butcher shop" I chose to work for Delta because of clients from my previous job. I felt things had changed if the clients are excited about going only to Delta Medical for treatment. Now that I have been employed and had some hands on experience working for this agency; I would not recommend anyone to bring their family members here. There is only one doctor who gives his patients the care and respect that they deserve. There was one problem that occurred that would have been solved if pictures of all patients at the time of admission. Not to mention that there are other incidents and grievances that the patients were too afraid to give to the "Patient Advocate"....because they didn't think anything would be done. They trusted me to hold the grievances until they were discharged. The management staff manage her employees by threats, intimidation, and favoritism. She failed to get to know her employees. I have never worked for a supervisor who runs from her employees, rarely return calls, never do follow ups, but expect the employee to do what she doesn't do, and she has no respect for her employees or their space. She also allow the weekend counselors to clock in and leave the facility to get their nails done, hair done, have lunch with significant others while on the clock. There were no actions taken. The management staff might say I'm being retaliatory because I was terminated. That wouldn't be true. I'm putting this out here so people would seek safe healthy treatment at some other hospital who provide excellent customer services.
